I got sonicview 360 elite that came with a dongle with S/N starts with 5e.. using wiznet it shows version 82.0. when I try to upload svln43, I get error" destination 173.33.31.183 is unreachable". the dongle that I have has no light indicator anywhere, only serial port on one side and lan port on the other side. I checked all the setting in wiznet and still get this error. I am not sure if the dongle is not working or I'm missing any details. this what I got from wiznet
version 82.0
local ip 173.33.31.183
subnet 255.255.254.3
gatway 173.33.30.1
ip method is on static
any help will be greatly appreciated

Your subnet needs to change to match the subnet in your computer.
The lights on the dongle are located on the rj45 side of the dongle and both must be working or you wouldn't get a return in Wiz.
Your on the right track with the Svlan-43 file....
Here is your fix......
With the dongle plugged into the lan port on your computer, open your "Network and Sharing Center" page.
Locate "Change Adapter settings" and locate "Local area connection".
RIGHT click on local area connection and choose "properties".
Locate tcp/ipv-4 and double click on it.
Choose "Use the following ip address" and enter....
ip address: 173.33.31.185
Subnet: 255.255.255.0 (This is the problem area. Note the difference in what you have and what it needs to be)
Gateway: 173.33.30.1
Click on "OK" to save and exit out.
Try again to upload the Svaln-43 file.
Continue with your update of the dongle.
Post what you learn and good luck.

Thank you it's Jafo, I got the dongle to upgrade to version 4.3 and the lights on back showing solid green and solid amber. I loaded the latest svlan file into the box, entered my server info into network setting but still showing connection fail . it's worth to mention that I got the box to work with ihub emulation, when loading the file for the emulation, I can watch tv. I reboot my router and still not able to connect with dongle. On network setup I tried both dhcp and static with no result. and when I use "yes" for dns I get dns fail.

Did you confirm the dongle is now at version 4.12 ?
Dns fail describes an issue with the info you entered or the server was not at that address or online when you we're looking.
Connect fail describes making it to the server but a denial of entry for any of several reasons.
Confirm the dongle is updated to 4.12
Confirm you have the current file loaded in the box.
Confirm the server is up and working.
Confirm the info you entered in the Network settings is correct.
Confirm your numbers are still active. (We can assume they are as you can connect with emulation.)
If the dongle is up to date, look for an error in the info you entered someplace.
Stick to dhcp and reboot all.Modem/router first and let it fully boot before starting the box.
Try again to connect and with luck you'll get there.

the dongle version is 4.3 not 4.12 that's what I got when uploaded svlan43 in wiznet.
The current file is the one I got from the files section.
My server is working since I have a working viewsat with the same info, but not at the same time with viewsonic since I have only one code.
the dongle info you mentioned, was I supposed to enter any info after loading svlan43 using wiznet? and what kind of info? do you mean my server info?
I also have a nagging message on the box now that says" update sw at myfreeneeds.com" and it shows a message "no signal" but I know I have signal when I check dish setting all showing signals on 110 and 119.

You do not have the current file.
Unhook the dongle and set it aside for now.
Load this file:
http://www.satfix.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=16328&d=1349011101
Reboot the box.
Shut the box back down with the rear switch and reconnect the dongle.
Reboot the box and look for the "Updating" message.
When done, reboot the box. You should now be at version 4.12 and the message should be gone.
Go into the network settings menu, set to dhcp and re-enter your server info or confirm it is correct.
Try again to connect.

Hello It's Jafo, it works, thank you for your help. Well, DHCP was part of the problem and also my stubborn router was refusing to connect the dongle and after several boot and reboot, it did connect. I couldn't remember my router usrnm and pass that I setup years ago, and I didn't want to reset it and go thru the whole mess. Anyway, when I mentioned the 4.3 version I checked again with wiznet and yes, the box did the update and the dongle shows version 4.12. Again, thank you.
