So We spent 3 weekends planting.
In 2 nights we have stems in our planters. uggg.
Tried just about everything (yes Bone meal and cayenne) other than setting snares or a shotgun.
Did major web search seeking how to stop rabbits eating flowers without firearms and found this stuff...

Seriously? Dried blood?
Mixing it was fun... You stir and it foams and heaven forbid should you spill. It stains.
Anyway I shall let you know how it works.

I have big problems with ground squirrels getting into the fruit trees.
So what I have done (no poisons needed) is to one, dig out the planting area and line it with 1/4" rat mesh on the bottom and all 4 sides, this keeps them from burrowing in.
Then on the 4 corners I drove in the 6 foot "T" posts like what you use for barbed wire fencing, then streached 1/2 chicken wire around the almonds as a fence, a standard farmers gate is used to get inside, the fence and the below ground wire are stitched together.
Then to keep them (and the birds) from just climbing over I made a frame out of 1/2 inch EMT conduit, and put up some bird netting, stitched it to the chicken wire fence and I was done with loosing all my crops.

you could always just dig upa spot close to the flowers and toss in some leaf lettuce as ground cover... stuff grows fast, you can fatten the rabbits up and if they find something they like more they will leave the other stuff alone ... or you can get the Call of the Wildman guy to show up, sit in the corner of your yard and make a sound like a carrot ;)

Well we put the stuff down and plants are growing back. This morning I was outside and I watched this rabbit go around our entire yard trying to eat something but would not touch anything we sprayed with this stuff. It settled on some ground cover weeds around the pool and all I said was have at it, you're saving me from weeding.
So does this stuff work? Absolutely. Especially after I watched the rabbit go from planter to planter, stand up to eat then back off and move on without touching one flower.
Now to spray my entire parameter so they don't even come in the yard.:D
