Edmonton police release images of a nine-month-old child and her mother in Amber Alert case.

EDMONTON - Police in Edmonton have issued an Amber Alert for a nine-month-old baby girl they say has been abducted by her mother.

They say they believe Hua Qin Zhou, pronounced Hah-Quin-Jou, may be planning to leave Canada with the child and return to China.

Zhou is described as five-feet-two inches tall, about 120 pounds and as having straight black hair with yellow highlights.

Police say the mother has a stroller, baby supplies and a large suitcase with her.

The baby, named Gao Yixuan, has dark hair and a round face.

Police say they are concerned for the well-being of the child.

Officers responded to a report of an alleged abduction Monday night around 7:45 p.m.

The mother and child were last seen early Monday at a home on Mullen Road in southwest Edmonton.
