Hey everyone

Just wondering if there was a way to use a pc as a receiver. For example, can I buy a satellite tuner card for a pc and use it with iks on di*h? If so, what all do I need?

Thanks

Thanks for the input. Been trying that. But how do I know what works and what doesn't.

Lots of places to read about that part of the hobby. Besides cards there are also usb connected devices. The tuners vary in how well they will bring in the signals you are interested in, so you do have to do some reading. The program you use on the PC will vary as well depending on the operating system and what you want to do. Some programs only run in linux. Some programs will let you view, some will let you stream from PC to other devices. Most all will let you record the programs.

I've done a lot of reading over at fta beta. Skywalker seems to be the number one choice but I don't want to shell out $200 for a single tuner. Anyone know of any cheap cards that'll receive dish? Sd is fine
