I have been told the phoenix works during testing but I don't own one to tell you first hand.

Any 3rd party software that works for P$ on one of the sd receivers will work on the 2 other clunkers .

One last question on this matter. There are only 4 receiver protocols for this program-viewsat,cnx,coolsat,and captiveworks. Which one should I use with the nfusion phoenix?
Thanks

Version 2.5 has 5 protocols. If you are using 2.4 that is before the nfusion protocol was implemented.

2.5 is only available for Linux - x86, Broadcom and Atheros.

Correct, if you were really desperate you could run a VM of a Linux OS within Windows. Since previous versions of xx-client (v2.4 or less) were released for Windows I am not sure if goofather plans to release it later or just finds it easier to do NFusion networking on Linux based devices. Hopefully he can chime in more about why but I'm sure it wasn't from lack of trying with all the endless work he has been putting into xx-client.

You can simply buy a router (under $10 easily) that is compatible with dd-wrt/OpenWRT. Then use the latest broadcom/atheros version of it. Your current router may even be compatible with it.

I still have plans to update the Windows port to 2.5 but I got caught up with other things I want to mess with first. Like multiple nfusion receiver support.

When I started 2.5 I let the Windows source code lag behind. Actually the Windows source code and Linux source code use to be the exact same (2.4). But then I started using some Linux only tricks that require me to do some extra porting if I want to get the Windows version synchronized again.

rev0 and goofather-I'll run this by you. I connect a nfusion phoenix to a dd-wrt compatible router via an ethernet cable, the ethernet cable connecting to one of the empty ports on the new router. I connect the new router to my regular router from the wan port on the new router using an unused port on the regular router with ethernet cable or wirelessly. I make both routers compatible by giving both the same encryption password. I install 2.5 in the new router from xp.I put all networking info(login, password, des number, port number,ip or domaine number)in xx-client 2.5 ...I should have tv?

I really appreciate goofather's efforts in 2.4 ...Simply outstanding!!!! Probably the best or at least one of the best procedures out there....

A shame that you're not entertaining input from other members .lol

Only way you'd have TV is if that WAN port is bridged...you shouldn't have to do that if the WAN is supplying internet to the wireless and lan ports on the router but on wrt54g's running dd-wrt I have not been able to make the WAN port work any other way...I have always had to bridge it.

Great work so far Goofather. I have a phoenix working on a dir-601 router and so far it's great. Does anyone know if the xx-client could be run off site? I have a VPS that I know could run the linux version, but getting the keys sent to and from the server/receiver is what I'm unsure about.
Obviously running xx-client on a router is a big improvement over NOI, but just thinking for the future. If I could run a server with keys for my whole family that would make things super easy to revise when making changes to any files.

I don't see why not....a VPN would probably be perfect for this.
