Good day folks...

Just recently purchased a Next FTA receiver - I have a 1 gig usb stick that I used to put files on the receiver and later was successfully able to record a program....

I want to go out and pick up something with a higher space capacity for recording purposes - however I tried two different (non stick type) one powered, one non - and in both instances the usb menu came up empty, although I know there are already files on them but nothing recorded from the receiver, and when I pressed record to try to test recording I would get a error saying usb is full and then a blue screen with some code and then the receiver would reboot....

Does anyone have any info as to what style hard drive I should be looking at, space capacity/minimums, format type etc

Ok well first of all if it wasn't recorded from the box than it will not detect the file to view I use a NexStar external enclosure with a 500gb hard drive for recording from the Next-FTA box

It works great. Make sure if you want to see what is recorded don't go to usb in the menu, just press play and it will be there. Good luck.

I use a 250gb western digital ext hard drive with it's own power source and it works great. To view recorded items don't go to usb thru menu just push play and it will show up.
