I gather that there's nothing wrong with your eyesight (despite your being old ) - a bit of reading is in order. You did not specify which dtv dish you own - might or might not work for fta. Have Internet access at the cottage? Realize that you will have to donate to a p$ ?
Good luck.

You and I are in the same boat my friend --I have had my VS ultra for 15 years and stopped 12 years ago, so far I"ve learned you have to load the factory file on the vs ultra {file 146from March 2009} I still have my Atmega 128 efa -- have forgotten how to install the bin file -- not sure if you need it anymore? all I'm looking for a few FTA stations on Galaxy 97 -- its not easy -- they say read -- I'm pushing 90 a WW2 Navy war vet, my brain is Ok but my legs are bad -- I am reading all I can Lets keep each other posted Thanks Sweets

Stick with this thread - you will be better served
If it's galaxy 97 that you're after you probably do not have to load any files. To be sure you can load the latest sat file. Your dtv lnb won't work for fta satellites - you need a linear pol lnb for that, the dish itself might not be large enough also (this depends on your location ).
Sat files can be found here; http://www.satfix.net/forumdisplay.php?985-sat-files
