Just got my dreamlink hd and am trying to set up 110 and 119 using a dishpro 500. Can anyone help me out with the configuration for this? I searched around but couldn't find an answer to this. I'm using a dual LNB that looks a lot like the one pictured. I'm also unsure of which coax to use since there are four outputs (as you can see in the picture), if some could help me out with that. I understand these already have some sort of built in switch so a discq switch wouldnt be needed correct?

Your lnb has a large dp logo on the back as shown in the photo? If so it is a dp quad (has a built in switch based on diseqc) - with it you can receive 2 sats 110/119 or 82/91 to 4 receivers .
Connect 1 cable to the first port of the lnb ( no switch) - in your settings specify lnb type ocs-dp (or equvalent) and set 119 to diseqc port 1 and 110 to diseqc port 2.

Ok thanks.. Yeah, my LNB has the large DP logo on the back, as the one pictured. It also has four coax ports like the one pictured.
So if I'm standing behind the satellite and counting the ports from left to right, I should just connect it to the first port? Straight to the dreamlink?
I only have one reciever and won't be getting anymore. I pretty much only want this for ufc, so 110/119 is all I think I need.
Thanks.

Doesn't really matter which port you connect to , first would be on the left when looking at the lnb from the front . Have you setup the dish already ? Looking from behind the dish the left 'eye' will be pointing at 119 .

Planning on setting it up when I get home. Just received confirmation that my dreamlink was delivered. I purchased a dishpro 500 on craigslist, but have never set one up. I'll let everyone know how it goes with the setting you recommended.

Ok so applied the recommended changes and left everything else default. Still, I am unable to ditch the red bars.
Heres what I see. Let me know if that looks right.

The red bars means that you are not pointed at or the settings are wrong for that particular sat chosen.
You should see the sat name at the top right if pointed correctly.
Is this a new setup meaning have you ever successfully had this dish pointed correctly ?
whoknows

Settings look good. If you are trying to align dish to satellite there is a lot of information in the "sat hardware" section. You could start by going to dish pointer. com , put in your address and then you will have some information on where to aim the dish. good luck

Yeah, I figured I'm doing something wrong that's why I posted pics of my settings so that somebody more experienced than rookie me could maybe chime in and check me so to speak. Yup, ive never had this pointed correctly. its a totally new set up, have never used this dish pro 500. I picked it up on craigslist minutes after ordering my dreamlink hd. The last time i pointed anything at 110/119 was back in 08 when I had my coolsat 5000, but the dish used is long gone thrown away. I used a sat finder app in the playstore to help me find (or not) 110. Yeah, I'm in the Los Angeles area if that matters and need 110 and 119.
I want to thank everyone for their 2cents and will keep you posted on on how it goes.

Try getting 110 first - once locked 119 should come in by simply adjusting skew. When looking for 119 set tp to 12297 (you will not get a lock of the first default tp).

Sorry for the dumb question but How do you adjust the scew? Yeah I'm trying to hit 110 before anything but am frustrated because the signal and quality remain the same, meaning they don't move or indicate if I'm getting warm or not. I'm beginning to have my doubts about this LNB overall. I might just have to dig up an old single LNB I have buried somewhere in my garage and start from there.

Go to dishpointer.com, enter your location, multi sat, 110,119. You will get pointing directions + dish settings.

Go to dishpointer.com and select the "Multi-LNB" setting (after entering your address) then select the 110&119 satellites, then zoom into your location.
This will give you the correct heading to point a multi LNB dish, as you will be pointing it IN-between the two satellites, for your location a skew of 84.5 degrees counter clockwise is required, this must be set FIRST on the dish,(skew marking starts at 90, you turn it like a steering wheel to 84.5 degrees) since 119 is the first satellite on the Diseqc port, use TP 12297 or TP 12457 to find 119, once you do, then lock down all adjustments, then check the signals on 110, a fine adjustment of the skew may be necessary.

I adjusted my freq to 12297 and 12457 and nothing but zeros as far as q and s. i went to dishpointer.com and pointed to the direction it asked me to with it set to multi. I did my best with setting the skew to 84.5 but its hard to tell when all i see is 80||||90||||100.......ect I did attach some pics so you can see what I did. The cherry on top is my brand new dreamlink got hot as Death Valley and now won't power on. Well it's been a blast....probably just not meant to be

Sounds like the cherry's your problem. S is the connection between the lnb and receiver, a reading of 0 would indicate a bad cable, switch, settings , lnb or receiver.

Every line in-be-tween the 80 and 90 marks is 2 degrees, so it looks to be almost there as far as the skew. (2 and a half marks up from 80)(as far as what I can see on your photo)
And your elevation looks wrong, it should be around 50.2 degrees, the indicator behind and to the front of the bolt (towards the dish pan) is where you set that.

The receiver getting way too hot and not powering back up is a problem, it was working before, what did you change ???? If anything.
You also said you had an old setup before, did you use the same coax and connectors???? If so did you check to see that the coax and connectors were still in good shape?
Water inside the coax can cause all sorts of problems, even when it dries out, if the coax had the copper plated steel core then it could have rusted out (if water got in) and be shorting out the system.

Yeah.. I left the elevation at 40 while playing with it. It was at 50 before. The cable thing scares the crap out of me. I have no clue where it came from it was attached to the dish when I got it. So it sounds like I'm left with a good looking paper weight, out over 200 bucks and a combined 5-7 hours of frustration.... Paying per view is so much easier and cheaper. At least for me.
On second thought I did switch out the lnb's while the unit was powered maybe that was it. I found my single LNB and decided to try that instead but never powered the set down. Hmmm

I just tried again. Both red and green LEDs came on but there was no picture. I powered it down, and it won't power again.
