First off I searched but did not find the answer I was looking for so please forgive me if this is a double post. I recently got a Dreamlink HD and replaced my SD receiver with it. My old box showed signal and quality at 92%, my Dreamlink shows about 52-53%. I am using the same settings from one receiver to another and did try the 13V & 18V settings, using a DP500. Settings are:
#1
Diseq- 1
Diseq 1.1- None
TP Frequencey- 12224
LNB-11250
22KHZ Tone- Off
Multi Dish Switch- SW44 Dish 2

#2
Diseq- 2
Diseq 1.1- None
TP Frequencey- 12224
LNB-11250
22KHZ Tone- Off
Multi Dish Switch- SW44 Dish 1

If you have any suggestions It would be greatly appreciated. Hope I gave you enough details... OR, is the DL just like that and that's all I am going to get. The box works but wonder if there are any drawbacks to the lower dignal quality being shown.

It's lower because you have not tweaked your dish to its maximum. Not all boxes signal meters are alike. My old SD box was showing 95 % quality and on the dreamlink it was no higher than 70 % on a clear day.

You can leave things as they are but you will lose signal faster if bad weather is present.

I am sure you can tweak it to the 90's again.

What type of LNB's are you using? Legacy or Dish Pro?
How many Dishes are you using? 1 or 2?
Are you using a switch or a twin LNB?

If you're using a Dish Pro LNBs on one Dish 500 try the following settings

Sat 119

LNB Power - On
LNB Type - OCS-DP
LNB Frequency - 11.250
LNB 22Khz - Off
Diseqc SW 1.0 - 1
Diseqc SW 1.1 - Off
Legacy SW - Off

Sat 110

LNB Power - On
LNB Type - OCS-DP
LNB Frequency - 11.250
LNB 22Khz - Off
Diseqc SW 1.0 - 2
Diseqc SW 1.1 - Off
Legacy SW - Off

Also if you have the extra 8PSK add on card installed it will drop your "S" and "Q" by 3 to 6 dB or more.

That's 1/2 or more of your total RF voltage level coming down from the LNB.
