setting up x-fta

How do I set the xfta and I need to set my viewsat to factory reset? Oh and I think I have a direct tv dish plate up would I have to change that too

Which Viewsat do you have? YOu will have to load a file on it that supports iks.

I have viewsat 9000 hd ...one more question onces everything is done am I gonna have to leave my laptop hooked up and on everytime I wanna watch tv or since the xfta is configured I can unhook the laptop thanks in advance

I hooked up everything and I hope I set up the xfta wireless right what's my next step..do I just needa plug in the antenna? What settings do I needa change.or do on the viewsat

On the VS, just the latest bin file is necessary, of course you need to scan your sats your dish or dishes are pointed at. All other info is loaded to the x-fta dongle and connected to receiver via the serial port.
