I am having a problem with DNS Fail when trying to connect to the NFPS server. This is on my Sonicview Premier, my Sonicview 8000HD has no problems connecting to the server. I have had this problem now for two weeks. I know this is a problem on my end, but I have tried everything I have read and can think of to fix this. I have run the clean file, loaded the factory file and reloaded the current bin file. I have restarted the modem, router and receiver numerous times. Nothing has made any difference. Does someone have any further suggestions as to what else I could try?

Have mine set at static and DNS yes. Using domain name. Don't know if that will help ya out any.

Thanks, but no that makes no difference. I have the same problem with the Rocket server on my Premier yet both are working on the 8000HD. Could it be some kind of hardware problem with the Premier?

With these stb's anything is possible. lol Just a suggestion but you could try the emu out on the premier and see if it works. May give you some idea if it is the stb. It won't run long because of an issue with the emulator and is a bit of trouble but it's an option. If you can load a file via serial port then I would say the the port on the premier wouldn't be the problem. These things can be a bit fickle at times. lol

Try a "Network reset" in the menu to erase any previous entered info and try again.

If you want to give the emu a go the link is below:

Like I said it won't work long because the emulator 1.02 has an issue but it could help trouble shoot to see if the stb works with it. It may run about 5 minutes then hang but you can shut it down and restart it if needed.

Actually, it wont even run that long...
As soon as the emu makes a connection to the server, it drops out right away.
You won't get any kind of connection that will give you a picture.Don't wait for it.
You can however, observe the dos connection message to determine if the program located the server your trying to reach.
With the dongle connected as you plan to use it, open a dos window and see if you can ping the dongle's ip from your computer. That's an important test.Let us know what you learn from the dos return.

Well it seems there no longer is a need for that. I'm not sure what happened, but this morning I got the receiver working on both servers. Not sure if installing wiznet and adjusting some settings in it, made any difference, but that is what I did. I was reading online on installing a wiz110sr and how to load it through wiznet. I followed some of the suggested settings and when I later went to turn on the receiver it was working. Really not sure wiznet made any difference as I have not had it installed on my new computer for 7 months and everything was OK with both of my Sonicview receivers. Thanks abouttosnap and It's Jafo for your help maybe I will need it in the future but for now all seems to be good.
