I have an Insignia with DVD combo. After two years hiatus of not watching OTA, I decided to give the OTA channels another chance. Before the hiatus, I have been having trouble getting all the channels in my area. So I bought another indoor antenna. The previous indoor antenna was not able to pick up some of the channels. I thought that buying a different antenna will pick up those channels. I live in So California. The missing channels are: local ABC, local affiliate CBS, local FOX, and local MY Network. The tv is in my bedroom. I have another tv out in the living room, 46" Sony LCD, and those channels are not missing. My question is, does size matter when it come to scanning and picking up all the channels. The link provided is the TV that I am talking about.

Size only matters for the TV antenna not the size of the TV, and indoor antennas don't work that good in some areas.
I would go to the link below and enter your information, this will give you a report on what can and can not be received at your location, it will also give you an idea on what type of antenna may be needed.

Once you get the report you can paste the link back here, this way we can take a look at it, and don't worry it will not post your exact address.
Also are you splitting the signal from the one antenna to the second TV?

OK it looks like most are in one direction but an indoor antenna may not be the best choice, as they are about 35 miles away, you can go with an in attic or roof peak mount type, and you will need a VHF/UHF combo antenna, one with at least a 35 to 45 mile range on the UHF side.
Go google around as there are quite a few out there, Channel Maser, Winegard and Antennas Direct are the better ones.

But the indoor antenna out in the living room pick up those channels though. It make me think once again it is the tv tuner. :noidea:

It all depends on what direction the living room is from the other TV, if the whole house is in the way you won't have a good enough signal, the stations your looking at are in a general North North West direction (347 degrees) from you, is the TV with the reception problems to the South of that?
Also the antennas that are home made are mostly for UHF channels, KABC channel 7 is in the VHF band, you will need a VHF high band antenna for that one.

Will look into what is causing the interference. Also will check out the coat hanger antenna.

The bedroom tv is facing south. The living room is facing west.

So then it could be that there is to much house in the way, is this a two story?
If not then you could try one in the attic, come down through a closet ceiling with the coax.

It is a single floor, single family house.
