I purchased a copy of Win8 and loaded onto a SSD. I then purchased Win8 Pro from MS and loaded on top of Win8. The problem I am having is that I have lost small graphic boxes outlines and the nomenclature in these boxes all 3 browsers).
I 've reloaded Win8, although over the top again, not a fresh load, uninstalled all browsers, !E10, FF and Chrome, ran virus/malware scans from 2 different companies, reloaded java, ran cCleaner and Norton's registry cleaner and then reloaded IE10 and I still have the same problem.
I also rolled back my graphics driver, unloaded its Catalyst Control Center; no difference so I booted to SAFE mode and still no difference.
Anybody have any ideas?

Do a fresh install and load latest graphic drivers.

After many months of trying to solve this problem it was very simple: NO HIGH-CONTAST THEMES.
Desktop-Dell had Win 7 then I upgraded to a MS offer (39.99 USD) to Win 8 PRO. Update went fine but it did carry over my themes and hence the problem. After a couple of months I installed a SSD as my primary drive and re-installed a clean Win 8.0. For some reason it seem to carry over my themes again even after I had "deleted", but not re-formatted,my old primary drive.
Laptop is a new ASUS gamer which came installed with Win 8.0 (standard) and when offered, I upgraded to Win 8.1 (standard). Before this I had seen the same problem with graphics, that is disappearing (jpg/java) occasionally.
What the two computers had in common was MS 8.X: IE, FF has same problems, Chrome displayed correctly. Looking back now my old EXCEL/WORD/PP files would work properly in the compatibility mode but new 2013 Offices files would be devoid of color, borders and no Java/Jpg( jpg here used as the small graphic pictures). There was no "ARROW" designations and colors were off in the calendar.
Again a real pain but the answer is to turn off HIGH-CONTRAST Themes: Control Panel--> Ease of Access-->Turn off High Contrast
I had found a option that allow one to key back in the HIGH-CONTRAST themes on boot (8.1) but not in 8.0.
Just want to add graphic boards as both had lastest updates even during these lose of graphics/display:
Desktop, 4 year old with ATI-Radeon HD 3870 board, with 1 G ram, 3.13 dual core processors
Laptop, new, NVIDA GeForce GTX #D with 2 G ram, I7 core 4 processors
