I moved a few months ago and ever since then have not received all channels. The new set up requires longer rg6 cables than the old place and I am convinced not enough power is reaching the switch. Here is the setup:
Receiver 1 - NFHD, 100ft RG6
Receiver 2 - Coolsat 6k, 50ft RG6
Switch - DP34
Sats - 110/119 on one dish, 129 on second dish, standard LNBs for all
As an example, I always receive channel 111 (DIY), but no signal at all for 112 (HGTV, although randomly every couple of months the channel appears). I do receive some channels on 110 and 119 and seem to get almost all channels for sat 129.
What I tried so far - Replaced all LNBs which made no difference, tried two extra different diseqc switches which I know are working (4x1 basic ones) which gave me no channels at all, turned on the coolsat and nfhd at the same time (i.e. more power to switch) which gave me more channels but many still missing, then removed switch and ran the cable straight to the lnbs one at a time and received all channels on each sat at 99%. This is why I believe it is a power issue with not enough power to run the diseqc properly.
Someone gave me the RG6 cables (100ft and 50ft) and they don't have any text printed on the jacket, so I don't know if they are solid copper core, quad shielded, 3ghz etc.
Assuming they are not top quality cables, would better cables push more power to the diseqc? If yes, then I will replace them.
Any other suggestions welcome. I am experience with FTA so am confident in the receiver settings etc, rg6 connections etc, but this has me stuck.
Thank you!
