trying to help a friend out...they have a problem whereby on IP Setup screen>Networking Setting, when set to auto it won't Apply when selected. This function used to work. I have all p$ codes entered correctly and 95 quality and signal, but nothing will work besides 101 without a network connection. Suggestions?

sometimes I have found IP does not populate right away ... it can take a few minutes... or you can get your routers IP & enter it manually...

rebooting the router can help

thx guys...I have rebooted router. I could put my ip manually to see if unit will then work, but when I return this unit, I wanted it to be plug and play for my friend. I don't know anything about their router or home office network. I was hoping for a way to reboot stb beyond rear switch but not a system default. I might do that and rescan/re-enter everything...just looked for options.

UPDATE...I manually entered ip setup...it still doesn't show a connection. I guess the factory default might be worth a try if no other ideas? I want to figure out the auto ip anyhow.

wireless, connection is good, firewalls not the issue...the IP Setup screen>Network Setting...select Auto>Apply...nothing fills in. Select Manual>enter all 4 lines>Apply...not connecting. I have tested this unit on this network before. The receiver seems to be reluctant to respond to any IP setup inputs. I am going to try factory default and will feed back.

Update...default, scan 119/110 disque 1/2 put on channel 200 "off service" as all show "off service". Auto IP no response. Let sit on 200 for 10 minutes. (channel 101 works)
Connect limesat to same ...auto works, connects, watch tv. Issue seems to be the nanosat.?

Hey Skeptic shouldn't you be on dream once your in the network.
Not sure if this will help but I have a nanosat premium and I know sometimes it takes a bit of time to populate but usually comes in.
Maybe try it without the wireless just for kicks.

Yes, I am on Dream, Yes I am hardwired (plugged) to router from receiver. I was just saying I have wire and wireless capability.

Update...reconnected, shows network connected now not "off service", still no go with manual codes or auto...will re-enter manual and let it sit for a bit. Thx

That might be the situation I have. If so, that bites. What might have done this? I was going to try files 1.12 and 9.15 just to see if it jogs the receiver?? (grasping at straws I know)

update... no luck... went back to 1.05 and manual ip entry...I am network connected and shows no message for connection on channel screen. "Scramble" Same info works on Limesat.? Just about ready to quit this project.

Thx for trying

Just for last shot was wondering did you try soft reboot(I know in the past has helped others).
That would be the function 1 button on remote.
Try that reboot.
Hope this helps.

Yes...numerous times. Also back switch other times. Re-installed 1.05, redid manual ip, rescanned sats etc etc. Put in 1, then 2
different servers on 1 and 2. No go. (both work on a Limesat, when tested seperately) Still have network connected and EPG populates. Issue seems related to when trying to apply auto selection for ip it doesn't change from all 0, or even when manually entered clicking save doesn't show reaction on screen (maybe it doesn't) but will show connected after soft re-boot.

When using those old files you must only use server #1, and all other servers must be blanked-out. You will have to "copy" (green button) the info over from a blanked server to erase servers 3 & 4.

my Nanosat premium..., only spots for 2 servers, have tried with only 1 server, then tried with a different one on 2. Will try each one separately on 1 and see.

You should have 3 or 4 server spots, they will look weird like this ~#@%$ and you can only get to them by coping info over from another server spot.

Why don't you try the last file for premium(sky 1.12 and 9.15).

Thx for trying. I put the 2 files in as suggested. I still can only manually enter the ip. It connects, program guide updates, the issue is doesn't connect to server. I do get 101 and 102. I cleared Dream 1 entries. I entered info on Dream 2. Issue seems that box has developed a problem whereby it won't do an auto ip if prompted, nor will it activate a correctly entered server. I think with no way to get past those issues the receiver is not going to play nice.

make sure the sky file(either 1.05 or 1.12) is loaded after 9.15 factory file & reboot... when entering IP(or domain name) for the server go to net application Not IP set up... when you plug in your ethernet(while its connected to your computer) in the back of the receiver does the connector light up(flash)? When connecting to the internet through IP set up with the ethernet connected to both the receiver & the modem/router you must wait for a few minutes for the connection to occur after hitting auto apply. there have been some reports of ethernet ports getting zapped(failing) by power surges... this actually happened to my computer but not my receiver. If this has happened to your receiver you will need to repair/replace it for the receiver to work.
