hd remote flipping channel quickly

if someone technical know how to fix it will appreciated .

installed factory 106 and DL_HDpvr_119.bin still doing samething if i change to next channel its flip 6 channel ahead if i volume up or down samething.

anyone have idea what could be wrong

it may be some electronic component failure? if that is case part is available or not? can install any part on board but cannot troubleshoot :)

please don't tell me reset it .if you deal and fix this issue before let me know

I am technical these things i eliminated before troubleshooting..

its heating issue even with putting huge fan to it does not fix issue it had probably damage some component which i can not troubleshoot... :)

Look to see if the remote has a label on it saying "Made in China" if not then it is a clone remote and that could cause problems like this.

If it does say "Made in China" then it's a software issue, something has pooched the remote control software, I would go back and download a new factory bin and install it to see if it recovers, if it recovers and works fine then try downloading the 119 bin again and reinstall it, if it does the same thing then your stuck with the codes prior to the new DL_HDpvr_119 bin.

Or "Made in Korea" or "Made in Malaysia" maybe, it should have a label on the remote that matches where the unit was made, we have been seeing a lot of clone remotes coming in on other units, some don't quite function right.

My best guess is that someone has pooched the remote codes in the last bin, or the bin was corrupted during download or transfer, if it worked before the new bin then best guess is the bin.

It's a Logitech Harmony IR remote that is programmed for 5 devices. It only goes crazy when using the Dreamlink functions with the laptop close by.

Hi all,
remote is made by china.

this receiver was working fine for almost year last few month it started this issue. if you move one channel it move 8 channels if u press volume up or down it move 8x up or down very weird.

did hard reset put factory file
hard reset again mean factory reset
went to menu still it keep doing fast forward everything :)
scan 118 no problem changed channel same thing even with factory file 106 on it.
i will try other sd module to see it may be different result.

Let me know if someone have solution for it.

Not once have I read if you took the remote apart and gave it a good clean? It almost sounds as if you are sticking. Does it do this only on the up/down button or does not matter? I would take the remote apart and give it a good clean and see what happens.

Sometimes the button on faceplate stikz....Other options-K-Box remote.Coolsat remote.A universal from wal-mart has reportedly worked as well as captiveworks 800 remotes..:-]

update
last night i unlugged fta receiver and took batteries out of remote for all night long

now seems to work fine all day did act 2 time very little let's see how long it will last

Still dont know what did cause this I am still looking into it.

Try to change the channels from the receiver box itself and see if you get the same result, for some reason I think it's an issue which is related to the box itself since this box is very touchy so it could be many thinks like a none installed the proper way HD board or even the heat sink block has been not set well or even was moved out of it spot or it could be even a defective box so I would say just try to change from the box itself and if you get the same thing then try t get in touch with your seller and try to have it replaced if possible.

I had tested the front buttons worked fine before now i tested worked fine also.

last 2 days i turned off receiver and took batteries out from remote for one day that day it was very minimal skipping channels.

today still doing bit more from yesterday only turned receiver..
tonight i will take batteries out and let you know tomorrow.

update today i left it plugged in and it is still flipping channel
i am pretty sure it is hardware issue may be one of the component is misbehaving may with ir capacitor or something
any clues?

Once again, have you taken the remote apart and cleaned the number pad and contacts? That would be the first thing I would try.

Issue fixed
There was two laptop one is sitting on table and other was hooked to tv .
the ir port on one of the laptop was causing this issue.
turn off both laptop ir issue is fixed.
