Bad tuner ? How do you tell? ?

was working fine until yesterday..

Server connected... both Signal intensity and quality are registering and high ... No picture/sound...

on every channel - looks as if its Waiting to connect to server but it shows that Im connected

I guess my question is - would I not be showing any signal strength if the tunner was bad?

Yes if the tuner was bad your S/Q would be at about 42/43.

thanks... I now offically have no idea what the issue is...

I have noticed that I cant seem to lock on a sat anymore when Im in the install settings... as an example - previoualy I would see the sat that I was on at the top of the screen - it no longer does that and just reads dish setting...

Could this have anything to do with my issue?

Have you tried channels 101 SD and 9421 HD? That would eliminate server issues as those are free open channels.

If they do not show up then your JB200 tuner is either toast or not seated in the box fully. Have you checked to be sure the JB200 is completely seated in its connector?

With no lock, your box should not be showing any signal. It should be 42% or so.

If you take the JB200 out of the box and power it up, it should jump right to the menu and show NO CHANNELS message but all other items should work. You should be able to play MPG files just fine. Then for sure you have JB200 issue.

Yeah its weird... Im getting good signal quality.... in the 70-85% range...

I'm going to load the Factory bin tonight... do some resets and start from scratch.... Ill see if that solves my problem. As of now - I swear it has to be the JB2 - but guess not if im registering a signal quality.

for me it was no picture,no menu,even with atsc tuner ok. and blinking front red light,no boot,removed jb200..all was well atsc tuner display & all menus,replaced with new jb 200
back to normal, I was worried that the main power supply was bad (its part of the motherboard)...whew!

Mine would not even update channels or firmware via usb... My box is in a media closet and after further investigation - I have the "no channel" issue and have to reload/reset to factory condition using a loader and null modem cable. Had to order a usb to r232 device so I'm not back up yet.... Ill report back when I get it all figured out.

I suppose it all depends on what is wrong with it to the way it will behave. Yours sounds like it had a dead short someplace

I have the same issue which cant resolve for weeks now with the Jynx box. I have no problem with the SV 8000 HD. This box working really well since it born then bought the Jynx when it came out V2 was working fine for 6 months or so and now have problem with signal issues. Can get it working probably and dont know what are the causes. I have been trying to figure out what wrong with this Jynx and I dont thing there is nothing wrong with my setting, my dish, DDP 44 and power inserter because it work with the SV 8000 HD. I only take out the SV 8000 and replace the Jynx but the Jynx has no signal on some sat or TP. I guess my last thought would be the issues with the JB 200. I noticed that it scan TP with out HD manually but when it come to TP where is HD channels and do a manually scan and get 0 channels.
If any one having trouble or find out what are the causes please share with all the Jynx members in the mean time I either buy another JB 200 or a new HD receiver. Any one else recommend any box better. my next choice is the Dreamlink.

BTW the jb 200 has 2 port out. Question
Can you use either one and what the purpose for 2 connector. Is it for output to second receiver and when install the JB 200 does it goes to any either slot. there are 2 slots on the main board. I have the jb 200 on the first slot and the ATSC on the second but dont know why every time I use the DTV channels the Jynx always reboot often when you use the remote to change the channels.
