My Sonicview Elite went belly up. I've replaced it with a Sonicview Premier. Setup was pretty similar but the channel scans come with with vastly different results. I'm viewing 119 and 110. The Elite had channels all the way up to the 8100's and higher. The Premier only gets channels to around 794. Nothing on the setup has changed except for the receiver. The LNB selection is a little different, on the Elite I had single selected, that isn't an option on the Premier, I'm using the standard option. I had read that I should use the OCS-DP setting but that does not produce results. Also 110 always says failure at the end of a scan yet it adds all the channels.

Is the tuner in the Premier that much different from the Elite? I thought the main difference between the two was that the Elite had two tuners. Is there something that I'm missing? Here is my setups.

Sat: 119W
LNB Type: Standard
LNB Freq: 11250
22KHZ: OFF
LNB Power: ON
Transponder: 12224
Search Opt: All
Network Search: Off
DiSEqC: Port 1
Motor: Disable
Legacy Switch: OFF

110W is exactly the same and both are the same as I had setup on the Elite except for the LNB Type was Single instead of Standard.

I'm new to the Premier so any information you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Niv

It shouldn't be ocs-dp if you have standard lnb, forget about the Elite. Get your settings together and make sure you have good Q and the sat is locked.

Port on 110 is port 2, I wasn't paying attention to the DiSEqC port when I siad that 110 was the same. I did scans on all the various LNB settings. 119 I got 122 channels on OSC-DP, 394 on Standard, Legacy Twin A, B, Quad A, & Quad B. Got nothing on Universal and OCS. On 110 I got 205 channels on OSC-DP and 404 on all the others listed above and nothing on Universal and OCS. So yes I'd say that Standard is the best setting. I am getting good signal strength and Q the satellite is locked. So what I had with the Elite as far as channel setting is totally different then it is on the Premier? For example HBO is listed on channel 300. The Elite got it on 300, Premier it's 479. I was watching WABC on 8100 now on the Premier it's 629. I guess the important thing is that they are coming in :D
