If you are getting pixilation on some channels (same Q/S as no pix) and the T.V has been ruled out as part of the problem, would it be more likely an lnb going bad or the stb?

Oh, on a side note, HD on DN is perfect, its only on some bev channels.

I'm thinking a bad or going bad lnb on the bev side but i don't know if lnb's work that way.

check the signal/quality on the transponders for the channels you are having trouble with. It could also be a bad connection between the satellite dish & disecq switch.

yeah LNBs can go bad that way as well. I have seen them lose their gain which is what you are describing and I also have seen them still work fine on one polarity and totally screwed on the other one but I agree with weatherman that it is more likely a bad cable or connection between the dish and your switch

Thanks for the feedback riverman and nostradamus, its nice to know its not the LS Air powering down.

I've narrowed it down to one tp on bev, although it seems to have as good of s/q as others that are working without any pix. I doubt this units s/q is accurate so that maybe the next step. I have an old cs 500, i think its best quality these days maybe sat signal finder.lol

So the question is, do we still think its a cable or a lnb issue?

Like trying to diagnose an engine that's missing.

The coolsat 5000 will work as a good sat finder, but if the TP is an HD turbo 8PSK one it wont find it.

If all TP's have the same "S" and "Q" then it's not the LNB
