I have been running the hd air for over a year now. I have now found that when I power up I get bad or no signal. I leave unplugged for an hour and it will work for like 5 minutes and then die again. I have read alot about this receiver and most ftas not having enough power to power my 1000.2 dish. I guess I will need a dpp44 regardless. I have been using it as the only receiver going to the dish. Can something be replaced the 8qsp module or is this thing just dead. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You don't need the whole DPP 44 switch, just it's power inserter.

The 8PSK module may be the problem, or you may have damaged the power supply to the LNB.

It may have worked for this long, but over time the power supply will go by by, the recivers LNB supply is rated at 500 mA, the D1000 LNB needs 650 mA, you may have slowly cooked the supply.

Look on the power supply board for any bulged out caps, they look like little gray, black or blue cans, and should have a flat top, if the top is domed or bulged up, it is bad, this can be fixed, if you have the skills.

And to all that may read this, if you have the D1000 LNB and it may be working fine right now, but with out the external DC supply to run it you will slowly cook your power supply, it may take a while but it will happen.

I had the same problem with one that I have and I replaced the LS400 board
and that took care of the problem with it cutting in and out saying no or bad
signal. edlkll
