wiring ???

I'm setting up a linkbox for a buddy. He had a 500+ dish feeding in his house with a couple splitters to 4 OEM boxes. Coax feeding his OEM boxes has a splitter 1 feed to 2 LNB inputs+ant his OEM box has 2 inputs to watch and record different channels. Question Can I use 1 of the 2 LNB inputs to supply my linkbox? I know I'll lose record function on the OEM but that's ok

there is no DP34 they are using the internal switch in the 500+ and spliters

You cant use splitters on dish 500+ satellite systems, (unless it's a joey/hopper setup, and using their splitters) you may be looking at switches, with a dish 500+ it is more then likely a DP44 switch, but what type of antenna on the OEM feed? If a TV antenna then they used a diplexer after the DP44 switch.

What type of OEM receivers are they?

If the VIP type (VIP222) then a dish separator can be used to split one coax into the two SAT inputs, thus freeing up one coax feed, is this an HD system?

Is this a Joey/hopper system?? If so then the FTA receiver will not work in that setup.

We need more info.

yes it is a VIP222 no DP34 or 44 just Dish 500+ and splitters thanks
