View Full Version : receiver keeps rebooting with stars across screen

Hey guys. Havnt had much problems with my hd air. But coming home after work I flip the power on and my receiver screen is full of star symbols. I got a picture on my tv, but the receiver just reboots after 5 seconds of viewing. I have a fan put on the receiver(external) which eliminates heat. The receiver never gets smacked around or moved.
Anyone else experience this or anyone have ideas for a solution?

I have had mine reboot for no reason a couple of times, but nothing like that. Maybe try unplugging it
for about a half hour and see what happens. Maybe you can try to reload the latest file and see what
happens. Good luck I hope you get it back up.

your LS4 or 500 may have gone south on you.

Unplugging didn't help. Replaced power switches/cord with an other box. No change. I can't get in to factory set it. My last option is probably a null cable if it will allow me.
After that I'm buying an Ilink 9800, unless anyone has a better suggestion for a HD box (129,119,110,91,82)

Try disconnecting the coax going out to your switches, (with it unplugged from the AC wall socket, or switched off from the back) then power it back up and see what it does.

If it boots then your overloading the receivers power supply to the LNB's, or if useing the DP dish 1000 LNB and you have the DP power injector, (if you have one) and it's in-line with the receiver, it could be the problem as some receivers do not like this.

What type of LNB's and switch(s) are you using?
