I have a Jynxbox ultra HD and I want to power my LNB's using an old BEV receiver. My understanding is that the receiver supplies either 13 or 18 volts to the LNB's depending on the polarity that you want. If I use an old BEV receiver or a power inserter to power the LNB's, how would the polarity be switched since I would be supplying the LNB's with a constant non changing voltage? I am using regular DSS LNB's.
If you're using legacy type lnb's I don't see why you would need a power inserter.
What type of switch are you using?

I am using regular DSS LNB's with a 4 port Chieta Diseqc Switch. I am not using any Bell or Dish LNB's. My Jynxbox ultra HD won't handle 4 LNB's connected.

I've seen that when a sw44 switch is used. Never with sw21 or single lnb.

Receiver should have no problem with a diseqc and 4 lnb's.
What is your receiver doing?
Is it shutting down? If so there's probably a short in the cable or switch.

My Jynxbox powers 5 legacy LNBs without any issues. Jynxbox runs cool with a laptop fan and no issues.

maybe never with a sw-21 but they do use them with single lnbs and sw-44

I just added 91 to my diseqc and my Jynxbox will not recognize it. I connected my old CNX Duo as a test and everything works fine.

Four single DSS LNB's run into the right 4x1 Diseqc switch sould be no problem, as the correct switch will connect to only one LNB at a time.
If your using a 3x4 or a 4x4 switch (more then one receiver) then you should use one with a DC power inserter as all 3 or 4 LNB's will be powered at all times, each DSS LNB runs at about 200 mA of DC current, (some may run a bit less) if you add that all together it adds up to 800 mA, most (95%) of the FTA receivers out there will only supply 500 mA, any more then that and you could over time damage the receivers power supply, as only one receiver will power the system.
Using cheap coax (the stuff with copper plated steel center conductor) can also cause problems due to too much voltage drop, legacy (or standard) LN's use +13 volts and +18 volts to switch between transponders.
If the voltage is too low it won't switch right, a DC powered switch helps with this, but you dont need one with only 1 reciver, a standard 4x1 Diseqc switch should work, all you need is to be sure the coax is of good quality, and can handle the high frequency needed for satellite systems.
