Ls500 Module bad maybe?

I have a Pinwheel HD mini and I have been at it for hours today. It came with a LS500 Module. I have scanned and rescanned and then rescanned again but it does not seem to pick up any of the 8PSK
MPEG-4 channels. For instance on Echo 110 it doesn't pick up any PPV channels on TP 12311 R

I have taken the box apart. Triple checked connections. Tried version 2.3, 2.4 then back to version 2.3. I tried a blind scan. I have tried to just scan the Transponder alone. Always comes back 0 channels. I dont have it on Sat 129 yet. Will have to check that but I'm getting a bad feeling. I dont think the module is working. If I go into antenna settings and set the TP Frequency to 12311\21500 it shows its locked to "Unknown"

Last resort I guess is I will go back and try Version 2.1. After that... I dunno:noidea:

it is your settings, you would have to set it correctly, sat, lnb type,diseqc ports, etc..
when you set it correctly then you will see that your sat locked to: to the right sat, only after that you should click on green "save" button
do the same for all your sats then push the "blue" search button...
here is settings for diseqc's:
it is just an exemple:
diseqc parameter : A
diseqc 1.1...they both should be for diseqc 1

diseqc parameter : B
diseqc 1.1...they both should be for diseqc 2

same for the rest of the ports

if the tuner was bad you wouldn't have any signal at 21500 frequency

Tried your suggestions. Same thing. Any Mpeg2 Transponder it locks in fine. When you put it on a 8PSK Turbo Transponder, it doesn't Lock to the Sat or at least recognize it. No channels come in when you scan that MPEG4 Transponder individually, even though there is a signal.

I did see a bad tuner and at least on that one when you landed on a HD transponder there was no recognition of a signal at all

I think is see your problem if you are using diseqc parameter then turn the other diseqc setting off or vice versa

Ya I tried it numerous ways, numerous combinations. I will hook it up to Sat 129 with no switch today to see what happens.

yeah sure way to find out whether it is a switch issue or tuner problem

I was messing around trying to solve your problem and I totally lost all HD capabilities and thought I blew my tuner as well. Hard reboot fixed it. That might solve your problem as well after making changes to the settings reboot by pulling the power plug for 20 seconds

try changing the TP frequency to 12516/V/20000

you have a bad dvbs2 tuner

ls400/500 is good

easy trick to see if you have a good tuner or a bad dvbs2 tuner

go to 82 (nimiq 2) with correct signal and diseqc

if nimiq2 signal show as locked unknown = bad tuner
if nimiq2 signal shows as locked to NIMIQ 2 = good tuner

For a moment it recognized Ciel129 but when I scanned it picked up about 44 channels only. No HD stuff. Guess next question is, what kind of Tuners are compatible and where are they available? I looked at the site I grabbed it from and they don't seem to carry the same Tuner. It all comes as one pkg with the Pinwheel.

no need to replace ls400/500

you need to only change dvbs2 tuner

gernally i am told that dvbs2 tuner have 1 year warranty

so take it back where you got and and dealer should be able to exchange with a brand new dvb s2 tuner

just so it doesn't short again

put to motherboard first and then through the holes

put ls400/500 on top first and make sure pins are aligned 100%

read the rleased notes for how to isntall

but i am told it's under warranty for 1 year from all dealers

anyway.. just get the new dvbs2 tuner and you will be good

if you get only SD channels

quick test:

go to menu
antenna
setup nimiq 2

if it says S/Q but doesn't say locked to nimiq 2 then simple

If he is getting the entire unit replaced why just send the dvbs card only? I'd rather get all new if that was my option. JMO

I would suggest check all cable connectors, or inspect for any damage to main line before plug in your new unit u think it shorted out?
