Need info please..

I just got my pinwheel pro HD yesterday. How do i know it is a pro? Does the pro only get public server? And i can not seem to down load any apps to it. And if i have a hard drive plug in to it as soon as i change channels it goes to a black screen and shut it down is the only thing that will fix it..Until i change channels again..I unplug hard drive and no problems i can change channels with not one issue. Any idea?? And i am running the file that came out yesterday 2.5 i think..I just do not know how to know if it is a mini or pro no where on box does it say. unit or the box it came on..And i heard you can load mini, pro files on both. so that does not help to know..Thank you guys for any help..Always the best here..

Check the bottom of receiver and check the box for a sticker. It should tell you.

I was able to physically load all three software versions onto my mini. The only one that actually worked properly was the mini. If you can't get apps to install and it looks like there is no Internet connection. Then most likely you have the wrong version of the software loaded. There are three versions.

in the main menu under first colum should be about box ..its the last option to select and within that it will show you that you have pro and what file ..you should load version 2.51 .

But have any of you guys heard anything about the hard drive being in the usb that when you change channels it goes to black screen until you power it down. but then happens again..But if i unplug the drive everything is good again..And the drive is format though the unit itself so i now that is good..And where do you find to turn on public server or off?

2 - For those of that are concerned with privacy with "PUBLIC" system, you now able to ENABLE and DISABLE the "PUBLIC" system! (pro/iptv models only since mini has no public system)

>>>>> To Disable Public System inside PRO/IPTV

MENU >> Server LIST >> Press STOP Button your remote

This will cause you get disconnected from public system --no need to reboot-- however now you will need your own defined private system if you do not have one!

MENU >> Server LIST >> Press PLAY Button your remote

This will cause you get reconnected to public system --no need to reboot-- also your own defined private system will be fine if you have one set up!



As for the issue with the usb drive and black screen there are still a few bugs being reported under Pvr section . hopefully all will be addressed in the future .

does picture come in right away ?

where are you located

north or south

The Apps are not appearing due to a server side issue , hopefully it will be rectified soon , I also tried the youtube app and it loads but wont play any of the videos .

It comes on right away..Great Public..I really hope it lasts..And the more i use this unit the more i love it..I can't wait until i can install apps on it. As of right now it shows nothing. And would love to play with the VLC streamer. Great little unit. Public is great to..Love it.

No Nothing.. No apps at all. Someone said sever my be down..But i gyess that is where you get the VLC stream? And how do i know the ip address the pinwheel is using??Thank you guys you have been a great help..

no need to download anything for vlc

just download vlc player on pc

go to network area ... depending on if you are using wifi or lan , highlight whichever , and hit yellow button ( edit ) next screen will show the ip address your box is using , for eg .. my box is 192.168.0.4 .. so on vlc you would open streaming enter hxxp://192.168.0.4:9000
port on the end is 9000 and dont forget to open your port in the router , both Udp and tcp .
Use tt instead of xx in your command ,I did not want to create a live link . as it is not allowed in the open forum . goodluck !

Thank you so much that worked great. Is there a way to watch sat from other WIFI? Meaning not yours? This is the best unit I have ever used..if they can fix the hard drive hockup a and changing channels and not going to a black screen from my earlier post then this unit would be perfect in any way. Just love it. Everyone should owned one..best out there. But that is only my 2 cents. For what that is worth. Thank you guys for all the great help and your time. Thanks. Sat fix is the best..
