version: 2.5

Changelog for 2.5

2 new updates

1 - With this update, you will be able to press EPG button and will be able to move the EPG Pointer to the desired channel. For example, you are tuned into channel 200 and you launch EPG, you can now press 300 and the EPG Pointer will take you inside the EPG screen to the desired 300 channel and display EPG.

2 - Ability to load the channel database, favorite database, locked channel database and satellite configurations from any defined only http server by dealer/installer!

This update adds the secondary important part for those that manage/operate a private system of any kind. It is called "Auto Channel DB Updater".

If you are dealer/installer/private system owner/operator and would like auto update the channel list database and satellite configuration for your clients/customers you are now able to do it!

This is how it will work!

- STEP : 1 = SERVER SIDE SETUP -

1 - You will need access to server that is running any suitable http web server such as apache2 etc. You don't need to have your own server, you can simply sign up for a free web server, just need FTP and/or SSH access to upload small .db file!

2 - You will make one master channel list database file along with satellite configurations with favorites and locked channels using any PINWHEEL Model

3 - Copy the .db on your PC and rename it to system.db

4 - You will need to upload the system.db to your http server

For example:

you own

hxxp://www.hello.com/

Now simply make a master channel list called system.db and upload to channel folder

hxxp://www.hello.com/channel/

- STEP : 2 = PINWHEEL HD Client Side Setup -

1. Go to Apps >> Server List >> 9999 and Press FAV button

A new screen will be shown - you are now in "Set/Change URL" mode.

Press BLUE Button to Set URL (or Change URL) <<< This is the http web server address that you will define where you will store the system.db file!

eg.

hxxp://www.hello.com/channel/

NOTE: Please make sure that ending / is a must therefore like example =

hxxp://www.hello.com/channel/

You are also able to save the URL file to USB/Local Area Network so you can load the same message URL file to multiple units without having to retype for each client/customer!

-- STEP : 3 = Auto Updating Client/Customer Receivers --

Menu >> Backup/Restore >> Yellow Button (s/w provider db)

Now you don't have to rely on frequent manual channel updates for each customer/client. Simply, load one system.db to the http server and you are done and all your clients/customers enjoy new updates with out having to ever manage the channel list changes!
