After purchasing a 60" Plasma TV, wife did not like the picture set-up and bugging me to purchase an HD Receiver. "presently I have my old NanoPremium SD" in a way I agree with her because I can never get the picture size adjusted!
Therefore I need some advise from our Literaties; I have checked multiple receivers online and must decide on DreamLink HD V3 FTA or DreamLink HD + SK200, if there is a difference between those:rolleyes: "that is how much I know about the new receivers" I bet Dishuser is already rolling his eyes....:tehe:
Ok guys please help this old timer, to get my Lady off my back!!!!!! sooner the better..:grr:

They are both the same receiver. The Sk200 module will get you the HD channels.

DL + SK200 is the same as DL HD V3 , so both are the same receivers meaning the receiver with an hd board installed on it so you get to be able to get the hd channels, and in my humble opinion it is a very nice receiver and reliable and very easy to set up if you have the basic knowledge about this game.

You will need to be pointed at sat 129 or else you will get only a handful of HD channels.

Thank you..grazie tanto....Gents;
as usual great help at the great site. ftannewbie, at this period of my life I am not worrying much about few dollars more or less, important thing for me , is easy-set-up! I appreciate your advise.
Forzaazzurri, grazie amico,
I have a Dish500 and a Dish500dp, both are pointed to 119 and 110...so, I guess I have to point one of them to 129, which have never tried but I am sure that I can find it, now tell me pls, which Dish will be suitable? 500 or 500dp? They both look alike to me:tehe:
Thanks again.

Maybe i'm out to lunch here but i don't see why you can't pick up 129 with a dish 500, you just won't be able to use the second LNB without a motor.

the problem is power this box lacks power for 2 antennas, a good switch with power supply is over $150 ......u better of buying Dish 1000.2 turbo. brand new for about $75.

actually if they wanted it can be pointed at 119/129
but they already have one pointed at 110/119 so 2nd dish will be fine for 129
heck add a 3rd for 82/91

lack of power?
it runs 82,91,110,119 and 129 without a problem

But it would require a different bracket to do something like 119 & 129 wouldn't it?

a diseqc and a 21 switch will do it

diseqc are very weak....now 21 maybe sense is proprietary....but neither use a power supply.....dont know brother u run a big risk that your module or even the box power supply will fry.....to much load for this little box.

best thing to do is since u have a second disih get a single lnb with a single yoke and point at 129 and jump it to single port on dish 500 reserved for second dish connection.

What I been using for the last 1.5 years and works perfectly and flawlessly with (DLHD + SK200) is a 8x1 DISEqC switch. Controls 3 dishes configured to 5- DSS Dual EMP Lnb 0.3 db **HIGH QUALITY**. Configuration: Dish 1 (82 + 91) Dish 2 (110 + 119) Dish 3 (129). If I recall the switch was $16.00 about, and the (Elliptical Multi Satellite Dish 3) dishes were $60.00 ea about and they swapped up to the high quality LNB's. Over-all spent a few dollars once ( $250.00 about not including the receiver) and got a trouble free system.

im not arguing that will not work, but thats what i call the poor man setup....u can fry module or box....or having to buy a diseqc switch every week, does thing are so cheap they were not built for heavy loads. but hey if u dont have a lot of $$ i guess u can set it up this way.

Thanks again for all the info. Gents.
I think I go with ftanewbie, the 1000.2 turbo comes complete with 3 lnbs all I have to do connect 1,2,3, to three STBs...I hope that is the right way or ??? if 3 cox cables are used no switches are needed...it says!!!!
Anyway I have just coppied "how to manual" for this perticular Dish 1000.2 turbo. Did not have time to read completely. I have already ordered the Dish, as soon as it arrives, I'll install the darn thing after reading it the to the end!
I shall keep you guys informed....I am sure that I will need more help!

u can set it up the way dishuser describe it, but u will need 2 antennas and i still believe u run the risk of damaging your box because of cheap switches...good luck.

emp's are not cheap switches
they're not expensive either
same price as an sw 21
and that setup has been working flawless for almost a year

I have here 4 switches..
1-LA VA DISEqC Switch 4X1
2-CNX Supermini " 4X1
3-CHIETA CNX
Freq Range 900-2400MHz
Isertion Loss 1.5db
Isolation:. 30db
Power: 12-20V DC/25mA
Control Signal Position+Option......" I leave this one to your interpretation":tehe:
4-CHIETA WSD-41C
4X1 DISEqC SWITCH'Freq: 950-2400MHz
