If I have a 8000hd local out of the box with factory software, should I be able to get a TP that list it as DVB-S2 MPEG-4/HD 30000-5/6
8PSK?
Thanks
My setup is
10ft. Orbitron dish
8000HD LOCAL
ESX 241 C band LNBF
GI 450i dish mover

Yes, as long as you have the right LNB and dish for the satellite your looking at, and that TP is not scrambled.
What satellite and TP are you looking for?

It should work fine as long as your receiver is set up for that satellite and TP.

OK Thanks, I'll work on it somemore. Whats the likelyhood that I have a bad receiver. I've had it about a month, everything else seems to work fine. I'll also try updating the software, it would be nice if the manufacture listed the changes in software versions.

Is it imparitive that I get a signal lock indication before I can get all TP's on a satellite. I have 5 satellites programmed in, but only get a signal lock indication on 3 of them. I get some TP's on all the satellites,

Some of the transponders on some of the satellites are spotbeams, this means that you will not get a signal on the first transponder for 119W, 12224 is a spotbeam on that satellite, use TP 12297L or TP 12457R to lock on and find 119.
The same goes for 129W, TP12224 is a spotbeam, so use TP12516R to lock and find 129W. TP 12516R is also an SD beam, the others are HD.
What ones do you have a signal lock on??
