No such thing as a 5 it is a T5, even the module is different. If you look on the box it says T5

Lol, no worries. If you take a look at the module of the T5 and you look inside of the T4 dreamlink, you will see that it may just fit in the slots available. Interesting.

I don't think it's really installed from the factory. Must be an error. Usually the module are produced by a separate company.

May or may not 8PSK is a completely different modulation standard that requires a different set of hardware. It must be supported by the satellite tuner chip within the box. It's not something you can get with a software update.after instalation in the t4

The prototypes are not even made yet so I would be very weary of buying anything off fleebay of kijiji that states other wise.

Its proof that you bought the discontinued model that's still for sale on ebay. Its the older version as you indicated, there is no display in the front where as the new one does. If the seller misled you into thinking that it was the newer model then I would get a hold of him and have it returned for the newer one but there really is nothing wrong with the one you have, Works really well and plus I don't think the newer one will really be any different then the older model, just a couple of different features.

That's exactly what happened - the person who actually bought it from ebay, sold ($280) me it as the latest model Dreamlink (T5).

Why would you need a new bin when the dreamlink is working well. EPG is half descent and the PVR works really well. Scanning is fast what more do you need?

You cant fix the video picture since that is what the module produces. Only way to improve the picture is to upgrade the SK200

Yes that is true. The SD picture ratio seen on a 16:9 tv is not properly rendered and with a firmware upgrade it could probably be fixed. May be the T5 does not suffer from it.

Take the module out and you still get a picture. The module does not do the HDMI. It is a tuner with 8PSK capable hardware. 8PSK requires more bandwidth and so different hardware than QPSK. Built-in tuner does QPSK just fine. Without the module you will only get SD just like the T-4.

Looked @ LeeSatt site and it still does not have the T5s for sale????? I think he maybe has a delivery problem from the distributor. Same problem happened to him with the new Jynxboxes. Not his fault. They over-promise to him. Maybe tomorrow.
