Is there anything out there that is similar to the Hopper? Muti Tuner? HD????

A friend wants to know if there is any unit out there that he can run his whole house on. I think i've heard of 2 tuner setups, but do they offer 3, 4, or more these days???

Thanks

At the rate that coders and manufacturers are dropping boxes and introducing new ones, there's no money in producing what your friend is looking for. I doubt many people would be willing to spend more than $200 for a receiver these days

So far Dreamlink seems to be the only reliable box with support that has been around for over 2 years and seems to be the most stable including the PVR.

Also, consider that a lot of servers are 1 donation, 1 connection. Even though its 1 box, what your "friend" is looking for, they would need 3-4 donations. that would add up pretty quick.

I doubt that hoppers can be modded (I don't know for sure). But the best you can do is get a couple vips and a couple sling boxes. Others may have better ideas but slingbox like devices might be your best bet. Especially if you have smart tvs and all TV's wont be in use at the same time. I have a friend who has a similar set up. And because he has smart tvs in his house which run sling box apps, he can send hdtv to any tv in his house from his 722. Not exactly a hopper but better than nothing.
