Hi Guys! I need some advice for solving my Jynxbox heating problem. My setup is I have 2 jynxbox HD connected in port 1 and port 2. Eventhough both box are "on" it still heats up. Can a power inserter solve my problem or put my old dish receiver on port 3 to power up the lnb's?
If I use a power inserter instead, can I hook it up in port 1 together with my jynxbox (series connected} or connect it to port 3?
Thanks.

Put your old Dish receiver (dish 311 or higher) on the #1 port at the LNB, it's the correct port for DC power to the LNB.
Ports 2 and 3 will run your receivers just fine after that.
Note: Using two recivers will not add extra DC power to the system, the power supply on the receiver dose not act like a battery, you need a very special power supply to combine them together.
This could be why they are getting too hot.

How about connecting my power inserter to Port #1? Is it okay also?

Yes, if it's on it's own coax, some FTA receivers do not like the DC power inserter inline with them.

Hi Terril! I followed the procedure you posted to connect the power inserter to port#1 of my Turbo HD Dish and my Jynxbox STB to port#2 but still unlucky to have my jynxbox still hot. Any suggestions?

This may or may not work.
The DC power for the LNB is now coming from a separate source, try setting the LNB power to "OFF" in all the setups for the satellites.
I notice that this happens on a Dish receiver when it dose a "Switch check" and finds the DPP44 DC power inserter and DPP44 switch inline with it. (you will not be able to test this as I use a specially modified receiver to test this)
Whether or not it will cool down the receiver or not is a guess, some receivers just run hot, these FTA receivers were originally designed to run only one single LNB, and no extra tuners, all this extra stuff was not needed back then, they (the designers) did not re-do the power supply design to accept the extra DC power load.
They were never intended to run the power hungry LNB's from Dish and BEV, but to run a single linear LNB or a monoblock LNB that needed 200 mA at 14 to 18 volts, the dish D1000 LNB needs 650 mA at 19 to 20 volts to run right, 95% of the FTA receivers out there can't handle that for very long.
If I was doing the job, I would put a power supply in that could handle 1 amp at 20 volts or so to run what ever is attached to the LNB input, and handle the extra tuner needed for the other satellites. (Dish and BEV)
But that costs money, and would drive the price up, most people are looking for the cheapest thing out there, and that's an old design with a new rug thrown in.

Don't want to hi jack this thread but was also trying to hook my 2 jynxbox .I was using ddp twin lnb with 44 invertor. But believe that what fried 1 of my jb 200 so I want back to what I always used. I'm using a lnbf going into a zinwell 3x4 switch out to a emp 164. Both jynx's are working good now that I changed out 1 jb-200 that got fried. I have no issues with switching sat. I'm only using 4 sat. right now but plan on trying a couple more.I'm not using any power source in stream.Like Terryl said most fta can't handle these volts. My 2 jynx are running warm right now. But no extra heat being generated. It something to think about. Either way hope everything works out on your end.

Anytime you use dual tuners in the jynxbox, itll over heat. If that is the plan for dual tuner install a fan or laptop cooling mat. As for the dpp44 and power inserter, the jynx dont like it at all. Put power inserter on seperate coax all by itself on port one, by itself!!! and set the other jynxboxes on port 2 and port 3. And set accordingly in settings. Have both boxes off as they dont seen to like the changing on the dpp 44 while powered on, but after a reboot are fine. Everything should tune right in and not be warm.
