Had to reflash my receiver and now it won't communicate with the computer using windows client. Shows up in set up but nothing. I have read you have to go back to linex to jump start it, then go to windows. My old laptop won't take the Ubuntu cd. Tried upgrading the box with the cable... upgrade worked but still nothing from the client. Hooked an ultra up and away it went. Any tricks that has been used?

The latest version of xx-client (for Windows) has a 'kickstart.bat' file that says it's "for [Viewsat]/XFactor receivers that have never used a dongle. This causes XX-Client to send a command to the receiver so it will start sending ECM requests, even after hard/soft boots."

If you can't use Linux, you could try this.

New one did work :)......Makes the older client work again too. Funny thing is, the newer client doesn't show up in the receiver setup as communicating. Have TV though!
Thanks Hilljack and you Goofather for making it.
Cheers

With viewsats you don't have to use the kickstart every time. Once should be sufficient, until if or when the receiver is brought back to virgin status again. This is why the old version works again.
