I have been saying this since the pictures came out for this box. If you look at the Module for the T5 below and the T4 mother board. To the right hand side of the box, you will see 2 black rows with holes now take a look at the pins of the module you will see how perfect they are to fit in the slots available.

I tried this last night. It does work and the T4 does get HD channels after. I guess I'll be in the market for a second module if any dealers decide to sell the modules on their own.

Thats the big question. They are saying that its installed by the manufacturer so it may be time before we see any sold separately

Lol, I know that but what im trying to say is that at this moment I haven't seen them sold separately yet. Since the cat is out of the bag that these modules do work on the T4 then we will see them soon but what baffles me is why would they release an HD model with the same Module that works on the T4. Why didn't they just sell the module when the T4 was released.

Apparently the issues have been straightened out so the original dreamlink team will be handling the new units

Ok well, I got the module today and tested but im sad to say that it will not work. The module does fit perfectly in the slot and then went to dish settings and had to manually add a TP with turbo but it would not give me signal. As a matter of fact, the other SD sats would not get signal when I had the module installed. The T4 does not have any turbo8 TP's so I had to manually enter it. Signal did work but was red only. I firmly believe that Dreamlink may resolve this through a software as the module does fit perfect into the slot. That's my conclusion into this test. The result is that at this time it will not work. Maybe later in time with future software it may.

Well, I have the same results as folcan. I purchased the unit for my T-4 from Ont. Can. dealer, but it does not work. I wonder if its not the original part ( why is it a modified unit ) or if its like you say a matter of a new bin. I will wait and see if anyone else had success.

I strongly believe that the Module for the T5 will work for the T4 but an install of a bin will enable it. Its too perfect a fit for it not to work. Im sure that when DN goes full MPEG 4 they will release a bin because there is more money to be made later in time.

Ok folks, this thread seems kinda useless (no offence intended), so here is the plain and simple truth.
The T4 will NOT get HD channels now or in the future !
Just because its an mpeg4 compatible receiver does not mean its HD. There are many mpeg4 channels among different providers that are just SD.

Is it capable of HD channels ? Yes of course it is, infact there are some HD channels on 118w that were allowed since the HD market to those users is not plentiful as they only have about 5 channels and they dont usually buy an HD unit for just those handful of channels. Also those channels are QPSK so no module needed.

The module is needed however, for only future 8PSK Turbo mpeg4 SD channels when the switch to mpeg4 is complete and there is only 1 provider that uses Turbo modulation. And yes the switch on the eastern arc is complete and there are in fact 8PSK mpeg4 SD channels that you CAN get with a module if there was a server in existence that supported that arc.

You can add all the TP's you want manually until youre blue in the face... Fact is it will not scan in any HD channel that has not been ALLOWED to scan in by 3rd party sources.

If you have any doubts about this, ask yourself 1 common sense question. Why would they allow a receiver intended for SD to scan in HD channels when there is a T5 HD unit out ? Think maybe they would be stepping on their own toes if they did this ?

In conclusion, you will never see HD channels on T4 other than what HD internationals have been allowed, unless you want to learn to code and rewrite some files, or maybe try your hand at cloning.

Its all common sense folks, hopefully this clears up all the confusion floating around
