Doing tp scan on channels.....froze....remote will not do anything ....will not turn off or on ...cannot go to menu..nothing...any ideas

reboot the receiver

Turn it off by the rear switch.
You might have to start your channel scans again as your channel list might get corrupted by turning off the receiver.

I have rebooted several times remote lights up but will not even turn receiver off and on[installed new batteries].
Menu button does not work.When doing TP scan it got to 100% on one transponder and froze.

Also....Receiver will not turn off and on using the on off switch on the front of the receiver

pull tuner. One of the units i had had similar issues, I changed module all was well.

disconnect the sat cable and unplug it for a few minutes then plug it back in turn it off with the switch at the back and reconnect the sat cable then turn it on

Have you taken out the tuner? See if it operates properly with the tuner removed.

Try taking the module out like was stated if it doesn't operate properly then you will have to use the computer and loader and load the Factory file V8 that should fix it hopefully then you can use the usb to load the file you want to put in.

I was told my receiver could be done. If I have to buy a version 3 ,,,,,do I have to load a factory bin?

did you try pulling module and reseating it? Or did someone tell you its dead?
