Convert Clones to AZlink and use 243 Bin - Success

Admins - Didn't see this on the site anywhere... hope this does not get me in trouble but a lot of people did get stuck with clones (including myself) so Im not here to promote clones but rather help people who have them.

There are files that will allow you to convert your Jynx clone to an Azlink.... not much upside here other than AZlink is up and running with the 243 Bin (AZlink specific 243 and not the jynx 243)

I have done this to mine and have notice the box running a little cooler and faster channel changing. I have not played with the DVR/PVR functions so I cant speak to that.

Its funny cause the azlink is a clone of the jynx.... so if you do this... you are cloning a clone to a clone....

But hey.... it works!

I think the 243 will be the last bin for both the jynx (non clone) and the azlink.... az has less support than the jynx did but if you get a little extra out of the 243 bin - its a no brainer.

After the conversion - you get the same look/feel as the jynx... same menus and everything....

The only difference I see in this screen is Model, Firmware Version, and that Barcode is empty...interesting.

Correct,all Jynbox (originals) or clones run better with this cooler bin. The tuner problem goes away without the need of a fan.

Correct - I have upgraded and can tell a big difference.

I still do use a fan (already had it - why not)

I have a question, is it safe if azlink file 243 is loaded through usb on original jynxbox v2? If yes do I have to factory reset and to install factory file v8?
Will it be possible to revert back to original file in future?

If you have an original box then use original files. Would you use Toyota engine parts on a GM motor or do you think that quite possibly something could go wrong.

The reason of doing is the reviews that heating and tuners problems are solved with this procedures. You are right that no one in normal senses will replace Toyota engine with GM engine unless Toyota engine is not designed as it should be to begin with - right!

That fix was added to the 242 file which is also on the official 243 file for non clones.

The other reason is because the JB team will not be releasing any more files for this box but by converting it will allow the box to accept future AZLink bin when released.

I assume that if no more original boxes are built no more support for them will be written. The outing of a new box tells me that the effort will concentrate on that. Clones have invaded the market, so we must think of the future of this units. It happened in the past and will happen in the future. A conversion is just that, can always go back. jmo

You use a straight through cable not a null cable for the Jyxnbox. You may want to simply load the Jyxn factory file then load the latest clone file instead of trying to convert the unit.

I just dumped the allchunk file from a jynxbox V10, it is version 3.3.10, its in the all other receiver file section.
it should work fine on all V model jynxboxes.

Anubis the serial port on the jynx I have is female. The straight through cable I purchase has two female ends also it is a confirmed straight through cable. My question is how do I connect this cable to jynxbox? Thank you

Do you have any rs232 cables that will fit in the jynx, if you do just change the ends, its not that hard, there is only 3 wires used,
I can make 1 in under 2 min with nothing but a cat 5 wire, just stick the wire in the hole with no ends.

So what was wrong with the software that came with the V6, it works perfect on my V6, the only trouble I had was the fan and that was an easy fix.
