I have just got a T5 and have been all day attempting to receive channels. With the odd exception, nearly all indicate "scrambled channel" and those few that work are intermittent and eventually freeze after a minute or so.
Thus far, the following has been done:
Set up unit as per info available on web relating to this unit. Sats. and server all indicate O.K. and no problems scanning channels on 91W.
Use three different formatted USB sticks with the unzipped file for the receiver and used each several times to commence from scratch to attempt to get channels to function.
Hooked up dish directly to unit to bypass switch (also used 110 with my previous receiver). For now I have connected to 91 only to keep things simple.
Have disconnected power, antenna cable and let set for 3 hours and hooked all up again. Numerous hard boots have been performed with any success.
the System Information indicates: Dreamlink T5 (8psk)
Loader Version: L1.00.00
Hardware Version: HT-V20 1.00.00
Application Version: 1.00.00
I do not see any reference to the latest bin file -- should it be shown???
Can anyone that has a T5 performing successfully please tell me what I've missed or where I should go from here please?

As a further-to: I am going to check the LNB tomorrow if I get a chance, although it was working fine with the old receiver prior to getting this thing. Also, I note that the two lights at the USB connector (amber & green) are not on continually as per the Limey I had previously. The green stays on while the amber is intermittent. I have rebooted my modem and router, replaced the cable but still the same. May indicate a problem with the USB connector on the receiver???

After you load the file make sure you do a factory default
On the T5 receiver there is no factory default. To reset your receiver theres a receiver recovery. The factory default was confusing me. Although it is easy to confuse me

System recovery is the same thing as a factory default I guess I should have specified that Lol......

fan mods?..
Yes for any box. Seems the in thing is to add a fan mod instead of actually letting the box run it's course and then ....well you know.

the dlhd would have to have a fan to be able to mod it Nervous users can always add a laptop cooler but if installed properly the unit does not run hot
Reports are that the t5 runs cooler than the dlhd

Ive tried to help you along with quite a few others.
You have all the info necessary and from the little info you have posted, even though its obvious you have benefited from that info you continue to ask.
Don't worry pal, i won't try to help you any longer.
Consider yourself lucky, most don't get spoon fed even as much as you have these days.

Like torpainter said.....What question?
Not that to many will answer with your attitude but ask away.
I have never had a disrespectful post like you posed in all the time I Have been in FTA. Most members would either try to help or say nothing. I think you have a attitude all I did was ask a question. Give it a rest BUD.

For server info the password & id are the same and they both have to be entered in your server info. The 5th item on the dreamlink from the post above is id and the password has to go there. This was the info that I was asking for. I hope this will help someone else. I did get the server info taken care of but still getting no internet connection. I have never setup a iks receiver before so that is why it has been so hard fo me.

I'm following with interest the trials and tribulations of another user (Bill) as we are both obviously having the same problem with loading the prescribed file in the T5. His "screen shot" of the software info. is identical and I have gone through five different USB sticks, three different zip programmes and still have not been successful in having the new software accepted. The funny thing is, I can now receive 110 OK but have not been able to get anything from 91 as they indicate "scramble channel". I have got up to the 91dish to check connections (ran new cable over the weekend just in case, checked alignment (signal and quality is 96/97 respectively and still no luck.)
As a result of reading the threads in Bill's thread, I checked the module inside the unit and it is identical to the picture shown. There seems there is no place else to go with the exception of returning the receiver.
