I'm just wondering how much data my sonic view receiver would use over one month.

c/p

1024 bytes = 1KB (kilobyte)
1024 KB = 1MB (megabyte)

So, at this rate the IKS uses approx. 10.5kb per hour or 253 kb over a 24hr period.

To illustrate, if you were to leave your television on 24/7 for 30 days it would use 7593 kb or 7.4 MB over that entire span of 720 hrs that your TV and IKS was on.

end of c/p

Thanks. I'm trying to figure out what's using lots of data. Its obvious not the receiver. Must be the smart tv or one of the computers.

If you have a WIFI router then be sure you have the WIFI protection on, WEP or WPA or whatever you want to use, this keeps the outsiders off your router, be sure to use the highest protection mode your router will provide.

If you have WIFI protection on, then try changing your codes, this may keep them off, some routers have usage monitoring, you can look to see who is online.

A program called "Network Magic" also is a good tool to see what is connected to your system, it is not a free program (some routers come with it) there are others that will do the same thing.
