Thanks Ruthie. I'll look into it some more. I've been trading PMs with other people without a hitch. Do your messages have attachments or special formatting?

clarkBENT
10-10-2013, 12:54 PM
Are you replying to PMs from the future? I mean the ones timestamped October 30? That would cause the problem you're talking about.

Still cannot send/reply etc. to pms, says wait thousands of seconds.....for anyone who has pm'd me .....i can't reply.....lol

heres what it says

This forum requires that you wait 30 seconds between sending private messages. Please try again in 1769119 seconds.

I executed this SQL query to fix the dates on PMs:

UPDATE pmtext
SET dateline = dateline - 1857600
WHERE dateline > 1381449600

Hopefully, you're able to reply to your PMs now. Please report back.

We just moved hosts twice in the last 48 hours. As with any move, things get lost in the shuffle. Please report back with anything you find strange on the site. I've done my best to correct posts/PMs that were timestamped incorrectly.

vbSHOUT, vbSHOP and satBux are all disabled intentionally, because they are not compatible with the vBulletin software upgrade to 4.2.2.

Is anyone still having trouble PMing?

Terryl
10-10-2013, 04:33 PM
Well I think the site is loading and running about 6 times faster then last week without the "Shoutbox", but when can we get our SatBux back, I was saving up to buy me a new planet to live on, I was getting close to the 1 million mark, and there may be sales tax.

Will work on this. It will be fixed.

I have identified the problem. It has to do with the number of bounced emails we send out. I need time to think of the best solution. Hang tight -- in the meantime, look for the flashing green notice at the top of the page.

That might be short lived. I haven't yet addressed the issue of bounce backs with our mail provider. They freeze our SMTP server for 24 hour blocks of time when we get a lot of bounces. :(

Fear not, a more permanent solution will be found.

I wasn’t having this problem before the migration. Thanks cB

They will not update IE for XP anymore, they (Microslut) want it (XP) to go away, in fact lots of peeps are having IE problems on XP, it all depends on your status in upgrades and service pack updates, also if your using XP home or one of the others, I use XP ultimate and have no problems with XP and IE, but on one PC I use XP home and had to go back to IE7 to get it to work right, then shut off the auto updates.

For me XP and FireFox (Version 24.0) work flawlessly, but after you re-enabled the "Shout box" the site has slowed back down, it was much faster at this end without the shout box.

It's the original. I am assuming there are more of the same floating around. I figured they would have migrated and were still good though.
