WOW we dodged a big one this time.

If this had been directed at us, we would/could be using stone knives and axes again, smoke signals and drums, and may be horses to get around, or back to steam power.

It would/could have knocked out most satellites facing the sun at that time, disrupted the AC power grid, and knocked out cell phones, might have even taken out the internet, if it was bigger, it could take out ground based electronics.

To give you an idea on how big that was, it was over 15,000 times the size of the Earth.

About 1 million Earths can fit into the Sun, so best guess it.

Yes it’s going to happen eventually and we are not prepared for it. I read a study some years back that told if the Western Hemisphere were in line that it would blow the grid and it would take up to 20 years to replace every transformer which would be blown. That all elcictronics would be fried and most of the infrastructure would cease to work.
