hi guys,

so for some time i been having an issue. I have 2 boxes. One kbox prodigy in my bedroom and another one which is a Dreamlink t5 in the living room. So for sometime, i noticed around night time the signal on my t5 would always drop at night around 65%, but in the morning it would be 90% plus. I was so frustrate. Today, i finally figured out that whenever the other box is on, the signal drops right away. I turned off the kbox and the signal on t5 went up right away. Now, on the t5 i watch 82 all the time and in the room, my wife watches DN international channels. I would like to know how can i fix this so the signal is always high?

thanks

It would help us a bit if we knew a bit more about how your system is configured.

Type(s) of LNB(s)
Type of switch if used.
How the receivers are connected to the LNB(s) and (if used) switch.

Also what satellites your looking at.

Here goes

I have 110/118/119/91/82

All has the regular standard lnb with 2 connectors.

So the wires from 110/118/119 goes to a Diseqc 1.0 switch for port 1/2/3

Then 91/82 goes to a legacy switch and from legacy switch it goes to the Diseqc port #4. Legacy 1 has 82 and legacy 2 has 91

What do you mean? And how? And which switch? The legacy or Diseqc? I have 2 of each switch for 2 receivers

Attach copper wire from grounding block to water line, electrical panel, someplace that goes to ground. This might help with your problem. Keep in mind that both setups from each side of the legacy l n b have to be exactly the same and use the same ports on the switches and the same settings in each box. good luck

Hello guys

thanks for all your input so far.

Here is a diagram of my setup. So you're saying all 4 swtiches (2 legacy s21 and 2 Diseqc 4X1) have to be grounded?

grounding will improve your problem but won't eliminate it. I have a similar setup to you and to eliminate the problem I had to use 2 zinwell 4x4 switches plus a 3x 4 switch plus 1 disecq for each box, in my case 4 in yours 2.

and I bet the receivers only have 2 prong power plugs.
The problem 1st popped up with jtagging and the old dish 301.013 receivers.
Lack of 3 prong power cords and earth ground.

Lack of 3 prong power cords and earth ground.
301's came with 3 pronged cords
2700's didn't

but the dishnet install pic always showed a grounding block.
I thought that was part of the electrical code for antennas from the before times.

It is and always recommended to do.

Grounding the system does several things, one is to cut down on stray signals that may affect the system, two, grounding it will prevent a stray AC pulse from getting to your receiver, say if an...
