As far as hd boxes go I've had pretty much everyone ever sold from viewsat 9000HD, maxHD, Sonicview 8000HD, Nfusion HD, Dreamlink, Pansat HD etc etc
But none of the above have worked as freeze free as the Linkbox's Period
Don't know why but that's just a fact
no is the local the best HD box manufactured so far for this country? Let's look at this piece by piece.
Pansat makes the linkbox and they obviously know what they are doing when it comes to FTA
take your choice the plus or local box and they will scan perfectly with a odd issue with the plus and scanning when the box was connected to the network which delayed scanning times to the point it was futile to even try but on the local that flaw has been fixed and the local scans perfectly each time but why do that when the box has such perfect channel saving abillity and backup abilities that allow a tester to pretty much clone their box to a backup file so that they can simply insert the usb into a new local and then simply tell the box to program using boot main and channel and presto you have a clone
So scanning is pretty much perfect but not 100% and the reason to that is pansant is not using the high quality parts that it once did for it's receivers now 2nd rate parts are used and the problem with that is the issues like the hd have are common across the board.. what's the problem? the box doesn't discern between 100% and 90% signal and what you are left with is a receiver that sometimes feezes because of signal quality but the meters on the box tell you 87%. Yes to remedy you simply tweak the dish but checking it on the linkbox and it will tell you ago as 87% which helps none.
so hows the recording? Perfect as much as I can tell and yes the controls works well on the remote so that field is not a problem
In fact the box is pretty much the box you want except for one issue and that issue is the epg
and no that has not been resolved with the files yet
it's easy to live with for you need to only to reset the box from the switch on back to empty the epg registers but then again.l
some people that have test the linkbox and compare it to the dreamlink like the dreamlink more but that is so for the dream is fast buy I don't think its better
