View Full Version : Limesat HD Air LS400 v.4 versus v.3

I recently had a problem with my receiver where the signal would drop to 20% and I'd get a "Bad or No Signal" Message. I'd reboot the receiver maybe once or twice and it would be fine.

Finally came to the point that rebooting didn't help. After a few seconds the signal would always drop to 20%. After doing some home work, I learned that the problem was the LS 400 board. I quickly purchased a new one.

The previous LS 400 I had was v.4. The one I think I mistakenly bought was v.3. With the V.3 when I boot up I get a "Tuner Err" message.

Can someone please tell me if the LS 400 (v.3) I purchased is garbage, or is it something that isn't compatible with my Limesat HD Air. If it is compatible, should I be doing something different than I did with the v.4 to get rid of the error message? BTW with the error message (with the V.3) I still get 20% signal.

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

You just described your problem, send it back and purchase the right one.

The problem is that all that I can find is the v3. I have the v4, but I can't find anyone who sells a v4. The intent of my post was to see if in fact the v3 I have is pooched, and if I replace the v3 will work, or if only the v4 will work for my tuner.

I just found an LS500, is that a good option?

Thanks for your help.

I had a problem with mine about 6 moths ago I would lose Q and no S then it would come in. It had a LS500 in it, when I replaced it I used
a LS400 and it worked just fine. Its still working great. I have 2 HD Airs so I removed the LS400 and tried it in the one with the bad board
and it worked that's how I knew I had a bad board so I just purchased the LS400. It will work with LS400 or LS500. edlkll

For future reference I'm please to let everyone know that the v.4 can be replaced by a v.3. Also, as I've read elsewhere in the group, if you're receiver drops down to 20% strength, it means your LS400 is toast and you need a new one. My original LS400 would regularly drop signal strength to 20% for months. With the replacement LS400 all is perfect.
