Hello Everyone,
There is something on my mind that is puzzling me and I am trying to find out the answer. I have done searches and read different posts but I am still to come to a firm conclusion. What is puzzling me is, I am trying to find out if the Dreamlink HD can pick up DVB-S2 signals. I am trying to pick up Claro TV ( AMC 21) @ 125W. I have read that they are compliant and also read that they are not compliant. So I am still puzzled. I would greatly appreciate it if someone can help me in clarifying this. Thanks in advance.

Of course they can scan in turbo 8psk channels like those on bev and dn. If I'm not mistaken, Claro would be just 8psk and the board used with this box is for turbo.

Hello Costactc,
Thanks for taking the time out to respond to my post. I really appreciate it. If I am understanding you correctly, you are saying that this box cannot be used for Claro TV @ 125W? Thanks in advance for your response.

I see that nagravision encryption is used by Claro tv as well as dn. The tp on Claro tv are linear, not circular like dn. I'm assuming, but don't quote me on that, that you would need a receiver that will open up 8psk and the DL is equipped with the board for turbo 8psk. I'm not 100% sure and would appreciate others chiming in on this one.

Hello Costactc,
Thanks once again for taking the time out to respond to my post. As Usual I really appreciate it. You are right when you say claro tv is linear and not circular like DN birds. I read somewhere where they stated that the DL is DVB-S2 Compliant. I am not really sure what this means also. I don't like to assume things. Any other inputs are welcome. Thanks in advance.

The Dreamlink HD will do DVB-S2 But you will need a Linear lnb for the sat you want and a big enough dish to lock onto the sat

Thanks forzaazzurri for sharing your advise on this post. I appreciate it. What I found out today is that the Dreamlink T5 can receive DVB-S2 signals but the Dreamlink HD cannot receive these signals. I am not sure how correct this statement is.

Thanks for this update forzaazzurri. Do you know how to make this box work on DVB-S2 since it is compliant? Do you know is there is a special module that is required? Thanks in advance.

The basic sd module will do. As mentioned the key is a linear lnb and depending where you live at least a 30 inch dish. Linear signals are difficult to lock in at. You need to skew your dish too and the slightest movements are needed to lock in.

Thanks forzaazzurri for you input and your assistance. I really appreciate it. I am living in the southern most part of the caribbean and I an using a six foot offset dish to try and catch this signal using the Dreamlink HD. I am unable to catch the signal using this box but on my Open box it is working flawless. So that is the reason why I am asking if the Dreamlink HD can support DVB-S2.
