I am having a problem trying to get 110/119/118/129. I have a 33round dish and I was using a 3 lnb metal bracket but couldn't get 118. I was able to get 110/119 though. Can anyone advise me on other brackets I can use. I was. Thinking of the magic bracket. I'm currently located in Toronto.

Have you used this bracket...

110, 118/119, and 129 W

Using the same dish with this bracket, but had to extend the dish LNB arm with a inch or two in order to get a signal in 118...

A 33" round dish does not have the beamwidth to properly pick up 3 satellites (118/119 are co-located) you would need an elliptical dish to do so.

A special 3 LNB will work, but you need the 118/119 combo LNB for that pair.

It would be (looking from the back of the dish) the 110 LNB on the left, the 118/119 combo LNB in the middle and the 129 LNB on the right.

You will peak and tweak the dish on 119 using transponder 12457R, this transponder has the Dish 101 channel on it and is an open channel, making it real easy to find and lock on 119.

Once you find 119 and peak on it, you lock down the elevation and AZ set screws, you the skew the dish (or bracket) for reception on 110 using TP 12224, and TP 12516 on 129.

I own a 1.5 dish...
Has 5 LNB's ( 82 91 97 110 118/119 )
Magic bracket is amazing ...defenitly is the best !
I do installs and easy to set and people like the fact 1 dish does it all !!

Thats good, but a 60" dish is a far cry from the performance of a 33" dish.

And not all dishes have the same receive beamwidth.

It wont happen...
Need way bigger dish...
Plus its always best to check footprint...

45 years as an RF engineer in the broadcast field teaches me other aspects of dishes and how they work.

But some get lucky and some loose all their hair trying to get it to work.

Good job.

And please lets not argue about things.

I wouldn't make a guarantee like that, it wont work on all dishes in every location, what works in one place on one sized dish may not work at a different location on a different dish.

But go and try it may work, or you could be spinning your wheels for many days, weeks or months to get it to work.

Research and information always helps determine what will or will not work, check the foot prints on the satellites your going to try for, check with others in your area that may have the setup your looking to use.

A round dish does not have the right shape to provide the correct signals to the outside LNB's, (LNB's located to ether side of the main focal area) the outer focal area that the outside LNB's are located in will have an oval shape to it, an elliptical dish will provide the best signal needed for the outside LNB's.

Nuff said for me.

I currently have a 2 LNB magic bracket that picks up 118/119 and 110 with at least 80% signal on both. I tried that bracket in the 2nd post but was pulling my hair tryin to pick up 118. Guess I'll give the 3 lnb magic bracket a try. Is 129 hard to pick up in toronto?

No problem in GTA with all 420047! or more!

For 118 you may need a bigger dish then normal as it has 1/2 the power output of 119, check out the link to it's footprint below, zoom into your location and it will give you an idea on the estimated dish size needed for your location.

The same goes for 129, it has a funny footprint, use the CONUS footprint as the Canadian beam is not active.

I actually have 118 with 80% signal on a 33 inch dish so that's fine
thinking of adding the multisat bracket to see if I can add 129

All I can say is go a head and try, it will be a learning experience.

Just space it the same as the 110 LNB (to the right of the 118/119 LNB) and a little lower as 129 in your area will be the lowest of the 3, it all follows and arc through the sky, this is called the Clark belt (Named after Aurthur C. Clark)

For a multi LNB bracket at your location use a 26.1 degree elevation, 230.2 degrees True or 240.7 degree magnetic for the Azimuth, and a skew on the dish or bracket of 56.2 degrees clockwise off 90.( right side turns down about 33 degrees)

Find 119W first (as it is the center satellite) using TP12457R channel 101, this is the dish 101 channel, it's an open to all channel and will tell you your at the right location, then adjust the skew for 110 and 129.

Help with this can be found at dishpointer.com, enter your location and select the 110,119,129 option under the multi LNB selections.

On 18" dish in GTA 118.8 is 63% and 119 is 99% on Nfusion!

I use this 18" dish for 91, 110, 119 and 129 in the PNW (West Coast). Using a quad holder for the first three and 129 on a Ne Plus Ultra bracket. Works well for me.

Cheers :)
