I hauled my dishes and Jynxbox receiver south from the great white north. I picked up 110 and 119 easily with a dish 500. Now I am aiming an old simple circular dish at 129. I am using a legacy single LNB and a diseqc switch.

Can I get 129 in southwest Florida? If I can what transponder is active for aiming? I tried several TPs and scanned the sky and did not pick up anything.

Thanks for any help.

Quite a lot of dead TPs on 129. Last look I think the first active TP was 6 BUT low signal. Some of higher TPs 20 and up have strong signal.

They are not dead transponders but spotbeams, these spotbeams are pointing at locations all over the US, you have to be inside the spotbeam or very close to it to receive it.

And Whoknows is right, the best TP for finding 129W is 12516R, once you get a lock on that TP do a channel scan, look for channel 9599, this is the "You have a Dish at 129W" channel, this will tell you your on the right track..

Also due to the irregular shape of 129's footprint Florida happens to be in one of the strongest locations to pick up 129W, some places can use a 10" dish for this bird.
