I installed the T5 today ...
loaded factory did a reboot
loaded bin 1028 did a reboot
loaded dt5 did a reboot
loaded channels
got ethernet connection
installed info got connection
started watching ....
30 seconds after watching the screen went blank, with sound only ,,,,,,, I cant get communication
between remote and T5 ,,, I have tried rebooting, un-plugged all inlets let stand for a few minutes ,,
re plug and still nothing ...when I press any botton on the remote , I can see the green light on the
T5 flicker ,, therefore I know there is signal reaching the T5 but the commands are not getting through ,,
I can't even get into menu ...I can't change channels, I can't change the volume , ??? Any idea's before
I try to return it ...

I dont know of any instructions that say to load factory file then a boot loop file that was to fix users with boot loop issue
Anyway whats done is done,
You likely will have to load factory file with null cable and loader program. Most comps dont have a db9 port so you will need an usb/db9 adapter too

Is that a USB/DB9 "serial" adaptor ?
or do I need a "null" adaptor ?

you need to use a null cable and a usb/db9 adapter

if you can find or borrow an old laptop they would have a db9 com port

I'm seeing a bunch of "serial" adaptors on flea bay
And then I saw a "null" one too ....
"Serial" will do the trick ? or do I need to order "null"

I already have a null cable from viewsat days

Your null cable from the viewsat will do.

I downloaded the loader
I downloaded the latest factory file
I connected the usb\db9 to my null and then to receiver
the factory file is in the loader ...
I turn the receiver on (from back) and watch as the file is loaded into the receiver ..
it loads , then erases and writes to 100% ,, then a message pops up in loader saying "complete"
the receiver re-boots and starts the file download again ....
this goes on and on repeatedly ....
if i cancel the receiver stays frozen as before ......

I repeated the above with file 105 and file 106 ,,, same thing happens ,,, just keeps on repeating the file load
difference is, if I cancel the file load the receiver keeps re-booting repeatedly .... ??

any suggestions ??

I experienced the same thing. After the loader completes the load and as soon as the loader restarts uploading again you can stop. I had to do the upload several times on a T-4 before it actually worked. I have not tried on a T-5 which may be similar.
