You can use any Hard Drive has long its not over 1TB Hard Drive..
You need to use this Program to format the Hard Drive to FAT32
http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm
Then turn off the receiver at the back then plug your Hard Drive in and turned on then Turn the receiver on at the back and power receiver up then when the box pop up just hit exit then ready to recoed..
Works great for me ..

Why would the member have to go there to partition a external HD? Bad advice.
Most external drives already come formatted to fat.
Simply plug drive into a cpu then open and check properties. If it is NTFS I would be shocked.

All im saying is that if its not fat32 it will not work. That's why I suggested the program to format to fat32.
But I guess my advice is absolutely no good so from now on I will keep my info to myself.
Thank you

All you do is plug the drive into a computer as I mentioned then accessing the drive via computer you can format it as well. No need for outside formatting sources.

A lot of new External HDDS and USB sticks now are formated in EXFat and exfat will not work either then it has to be formatted to fat32 and if you are using windows 7 windows will only format no more then 32 gigs you have to use a program like Easus or Swiss Knife to format it to fat32

Thanks panther71 and holly2012 I been trying for the longest to get my external hard drive to work with the pvr of the t5. I thought the drive was not compatible. After formatting it with easus it's running smooth like a baby's ass! :tehe:
