I have a jinx and been running for a while now on just 110 and 119 but want to pick up 129. Tried today to no evail to get sig quality. I have a dish 500 with two lnbs and a 4x1 and was just going to add another dish pointed at 129 and plug it into the switch. I tried tp 12516 and i have a clear line of site but couldn't get anything. Plugged my address into dish pointer and double checked the azi, and elev but I couldn't get anything. Am I doing something wrong? Anything Else I can double check? thanks in advance

Are you sure you can get 129 its very low on the horrizon behind 119 the readings you get from dishpointer are not exact they are refrence points you still have to tweak the dish to lock onto the sat did you click on obstickles to see if there are any in your way of 129

No I did not. I know they are just to get you started, but I wasn't picking up anything it sucked. Afternoon down the tubes. I also was on the ground with the sat moving it around on my make shift mobile tripod so I can lock on and go from there but nuthin

That is an active transponder right? Good for pointing? Is there a better one? Maybe I shoulda dragged it onto the roof
Fyi I am north of newmarket ontario, anyone have 129 in the north? How hard is it to get up here?

dish 500 is probably too small a dish to pick up sat129 in your area....

24" or higher should get you a good reading of 129 from where you are and the best TP to check for signal is 12516 as that TP is SD not HD.

There is an easy way to see if you can get 129 take an lnb and hold it the outside of your 119 lnb and angle it toward the dish a bit then slowly slide slide the lnb up and down you should get a signal then if you can't get one then you probably have something in the way

Sorry Holly, but a Dish 500 is not setup for 129W if it's looking at 110 and 119, it does not have the receive beamwidth for 3 satellites spaced 19 degrees apart.

An 18" to 24" will work fine for 129W at your location.

I would try it directly into the receiver bypassing the switch.

I have two dish 500's. One setup already with 110 119, and the second is a single lnb on a dish 500 and for pointing purposes I was jacked right into the jynxbox with no switch. Im going to have to get on the roof I think and get a higher angle on it I think. 129 alone on a dish should be fine. Im 995 sure the lnb is good too. I dislike the jynxbox for pointing tho, I miss my SV360e for that.

Does the D500 dish your using for 129 have the single LNB adapter on it? (an old Dish 300 setup)

If not then your pointing and skew info will be off if you used a single LNB direction and skew setting on a Dish 500 setup for a twin or dual LNB(s).

If it has the dual LNB adapter on it (110/119) then use the 119 slot, then go to dishpointer and use the 119/129 selection in the multi LNB section.

And unless your pointing into someones house, a fence, a building or into some trees when it's setup on the ground then the extra 14 feet or so up on the roof will not make that much of a difference.

You can use a dish 500 for 129.0w with a single dish LNB, you just need to put the LNB on the south side of the bracket.

Just tune into 119 and then lower the dish 5 degrees, then turn the dish north till you you get 129 on transponder 12516

how do you set transponder 12516 when trying to point the dish? I am trying to catch 129 and have kbox.

Go into 129 and just change the transponder!

I am in Buffalo and my 129 dish is pointed very near the horizon. When a tree 300ft away got leaves this spring I lost my signal and had to move my dish about 30feet south You will be aiming very low on the horizon and any decent size trees can be a problem. My signal is also very weather sensitive. I am using an old directv single dish. Right now I have intensity and quality od 70 on 12516. Last night it was gone because of snow and sleet. Good luck. 129 is tough to find when you are freezing your fingers and the signal is pin point small. It is well worth the effort when you get the stash of HD channels.

Well it happened again. Trees grew and I lost 119. found a new position for sat with my dishpointer app where they shouldnt be a prob for a while. But am having trouble pointing the dish and picking the birds up. Maybe Im using the wrong frequency for pointing. Trying to find 119 with 12297 tp. Miss my old sonicview. It was super easy to find sats with. not like this jinxbox. 110 119 and 129 should be good to go but I just cant findem.1.5 hrs wasted

Use TP 12457R to find 119W, look for the dish 101 channel as it's an open channel.

Also use tp 12516 V 2000 for 129°w to align dish, hope makes things easier for you.
