Wifi Adapter

What is the difference between USB adapter and these Wifi adapter's for example with Jynx Box Ultra? Can I not use a old Netgear USB adapter to do the same thing for my jynxbox or any other receiver? Sorry if dumb question.

You can if its wifi the reciver will recognize it
