Trying to troubleshoot some problems!

I am trying to see if my router is no good, so I am trying to connect my dm hd directly to my modem, and it is not connecting to server this way, can anybody help me step by step to see if the receiver, can be connected directly to modem to bypass router?

should be able to Any firewalls? Sometimes a hard boot is needed

It won't connect to my friends modem so I took it to another friends modem, same IP, and it connected to that one, so I guess the problem is the modem itself.

it u can connect to the web with your comp...your modem is good....check your settings.

Connect using static not dhcp. Just have to add the numbers in manually.
